Saw him in melbourne at festival hall in 1973... they opened with this. It's was epic. First time I'd ever seen 2 drummers on stage. He later rode a harley on stage! It was quite a show... that was a long time before we learnt the truth about him. If you forget who the performer is (bit hard) you can't not like this track!
Even tho Gary Glitter was a horrible person, this is some amazing music. You can separate the art from the artist, but you can’t seperate the artist from the child...
The Glitter Band were the stage and television backing band. In the studio, producer and co-writer Mike Leander played the instruments. I think GG did too.
I love the song without giving credit to what he did in life. However the comments cracked me up. Pedophiles are evil. But it's a song. The rest of the band helped make the music.
The Glitter Band didn't play on any Gary Glitter studio recordings. They were the live band only. The only musicians you hear on the records are Paul Gadd himself and co-writer/producer Mike Leander.
Kansas City Chiefs had it as their touchdown song for years. But after it came the artist liked little kids, they dropped it. Now we do the Beastie Boys.
First heard this played at the youth club as a kid in the 70s . Great music isn't defined by a peado let him be judged separately the Glitter Band were an awesome band.
@@badwolfmovies69 He did nothing. He has been framed on hearsay. They locked him up without any proof of anything. Just some historical allegations that anyone can make up FOR MONEY. Its always about money. If it was that bad you dont wait 40 years to tell the story.
Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll Can you still recall in the juke box hall When the music played And the world span 'round to a brand new sound In those far off days In their blue suede shoes, they would scream and shout As they they sang the blues, let it all hang out Rock and roll, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock, rock and roll Little Queenie bopped at the high school hop Dancing to the beat With her U.S. Male and her pony tail She looked so sweet Times are changing fast, but we won't forget Though the age has passed they'll be rockin yet Rock and roll, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock and roll Rock and roll, rock and roll
I won’t, Gary was framed! Probably by the CIA in response to him making such good music they were afraid of it dangering the youth/causing an uprising.
My mother bless her when she was alive she could spot a wig at 50 yards .. when she found out he wore a wig long after his fame and just before his demise i asked her didn't you spot his wig her answer was classic she said and I quote " it was so ridiculous I never thought it wasn't real " ... Bless her .. ❤️
The use of this song was ingenious, not only was it a honestly good song and upbeat for the scene. But for those who knew Gary Glitter being a sicko it only amplified the decent into madness-aspect.
Zeth Bro : Except that #GaryGlitter wasn’t funny, not if you were a child who didn’t want his hands on you.💔 Just so you know. It’s still a great song.
I don’t think The Joker need a second part, although would be amazing join Ben Affleck as Batman and Joaquin Phoenix as Joker, but Warner Bros. have done a lot of wrong things.
11 Years old when I first heard this, in 1972, captivated since then, I had a massive crush on him...glad now I never met him, but, despite the paedo vocalist, the MUSIC was brilliant and out of this world.
This song reminds me of the Denver Broncos and the Super Bowl of 1999. This song played at home games and I can still hear 75,000 people all scream “Yeah!” altogether.
Right before I graduated from nursing school in ‘81, a group of friends and myself went to this raunchy, dive bar back home in NYC, located on the Lower East Side. One of my friends, Rena, and I got SO hammered that we began dancing this weird interpretive dance once this came on the jukebox (damn I’m getting old!!) I especially loved the bit where Glitter sings “”ROCK N ROLLL ROCK AROO ROCK N ROLL!!! “”Great fun crazy memories...thanks, YT!! 😊❤️
Slimeway XO there was a heavy funeral scene for the mom, a bank scene in which Arthur approaches Thomas Wayne while on the way to confront the girl that he imagined being with, a sequence in which Arthur gets kicked out of the Cinema in which he confronts Thomas Wayne out (only to be cheered on by the protesters of the scene) and then he runs down the middle on the red carpet as it pours rain & all the protesters pummel in every single cop nearby on the sidelines. That last one was a bloodbath kind of scene. There was also another Bruce Wayne scene in which he finds himself in the middle of another protest, only to run into Arthur
Да. Каким бы он не являлся человеком, вклад действительно значительный. Если бы не педофильские скандалы, сейчас не уступал бы в популярности Дэвиду Боуи.
Loved all his stuff tongue in cheek rock n roll went to see him live etc now feel guilty listening "how the mighty fall"the music always be a part of my young life can't forget such great fun music
