RIP Gary. One of the best characters in AWP. It was never the same after Wayne was no longer part of the gang.

He was very beautiful and very talented such a shame and a great waste I feel very honoured to have watched this the first time it was aired and wanted to thank him for making our lives a little bit more enjoyable God Bless you Gary you could have been anything actor singer with so much more to give to the world with oodles of charisma and charm 😪🎸😘✝️💞🇬🇧🎸🤘

Easy to forget what a dish Leslie was back then. Just gorgeous. Loved Auf Weidersehen Pet, shame about what happened to Gary, but then, I suppose he did fly a bit close to the sun, lifestyle wise.

Absolutely loved Auf weidersehen pet! Definitely the 1st season was THE BEST,LEGENDARY. Wasn't the same when Gary sadly passed. R.I.P. Gary......... Total character 😢

The best tv series ever I still laugh at the same lines every time I watch it

Aside from the blatant sexual chemistry between our Gary and Leslie Ash, I suspect they shared a white line or two just before they went on-air. All this twitching and gurning going on and Leslie keeps chewing her lip, Gary sniffing and wiping his nose. The two of them babbling away. It's a beautiful sight. Mid-80s sex, drugs, rock n roll and TV industry decadence, it must have been great fun.

He will always be remembered never forgotten i was always a big fan of Gary holton and still am i will never forget him his birthday is 22 9 2022 i will be paying his music i will never forget you rest in peace my dear

To be honest. i thought season 1 was the best by far in my opinion.

Great character Wayne, and brilliantly acted. Lovely to see Gary seemed so similar to the part

Series 1 was bar far and away the best of the lot. With series 1 each episode was separate - a storyline from one episode didn’t go into the next one. If you happened to miss an episode it didn’t matter because the next episode had nothing to do with the previous one, it was a fresh episode with a fresh storyline. That all changed with series 2, where each episode carried over to the next one. If you did happen to miss an episode in series 2 then you would find yourself lost off a bit and trying to fill in the gaps
