Now those words are as true as they will ever get Andrew. It made me laugh as well!! Thanks my friend...your comment made my day!!! Take care, and good health to you!!
Brilliant. As soon as read this I thought of his performance of RED HOUSE during the Fender 50th anniversary show. How do you follow that one? Great comment Andrew. Cheers mate!
There have been many top level guitarists over the years but none have played with more intensity than Gary Moore! I hate hearing people talk about the “best guitarist ever” so I’ll just say he’s “my” favorite! RIP Gary Moore!
Dude is awesome. Can't believe he didn't make it more in the mainstream like Clapton, Vaughn and others. Best is , well , Michael Jordan....Larry Bird...Magic Johnson....Len Dawson.....Tom Brady .....Patrick Maholmes....Babe Ruth....Rod Carew......and on and on. Subjective, All great, hard to pick the best.
You had Gary and then everyone else who wished they could play like Gary... Gary was one of the greatest players to ever pick up the instrument... period...we all sure miss your genius Gary...🎸🎸
I grew up in the Hendrix era. I always thought he was the best ever. But, some of that opinion has to do with creativity. He did things no one had ever seen. That being said, I don’t really think he could play at the level of this video. Gary Moore was stunningly good. There’s a lot of great players, but a very few at this level. Can’t really think who they are though
@@ryansaladin Yes. Neal Schon is also one of the best blues player around, let alone just one of the best all-around guitarists ever. Pull up some of Schon's blues stuff; it's friggin wicked!
Gary Moore is a brilliant architect. Every note serves a purpose. The combination of technical excellence and restraint is breathtaking. But that tone -- as has been mentioned here, it's in the fingers and his soul. Thank goodness this performance was preserved on film.
The sky is crying....for losing you, Gary Moore! An inspiration to all, a magnificent, overwhelming musician! Thank you for your music and your talent!
Some of the most incredible blues playing I've ever heard. A lot of guys just play speed licks and bore the hell out of me. But Gary says something every time he takes a solo. RIP Gary
That guy has/had one of the best vibratos, both multifinger and single finger I've seen. And his string bends are killer too! Then he can give you a fast run of notes and continue the hot emotion of the blues. Total package man!! I give it a 10
@@johnmusic8796 Oh yes you are right. I've seen Joe. Actually Joe is a big fan of Gary and named one of his Les Pauls "Gary Moore". They are similar players. Well Gary died 10 years ago and Joe is carrying on that Gary Moore kind of vibe.
This is what I like. Gary is the most powerful player I've ever seen. I'm a huge Hendrix fan and I say that there is Jimi Hendrix then there's all the rest. Of all the rest Gary Moore is the best followed by Stevie Ray Vaughn. It doesn't get any better than this. We all are so fortunate to have had Gary in our lives. His middle name should be PASSION. Breathtaking !The reason he wasn't well known at least here in the States is he never came here.
I understand why there isnt any guitarists that do kind of tribute gigs with Garys music, cause no one, i say no one can play the guitar like Gary Moore!
Incredible, was fortunate to get a pick from academy in Glasgow the last time I seen him. My son also has the same birthday as Gary. Privileged to have seen Gary play numerous times.
He brings you up, let's you down, then goes on a tirade. This is some of THE most wailing, moaning, crying, despairing, smoking hot blues one could ever hear. What a treat!
Certainly a few other blues players thought so. Originally written bt Elmore James in 1959, it has since been recorded by Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and of course this wonderful version by the late great Gary Moore. No doubt it has also been performed by other blues players without being recorded. It is such a classic blues song.
I've seen and heard a lot of guitar players but I have never seen one that play with so much depth and soul of their being while playing a guitar. A guitar was Gary Moore.
This music of Gary Moore makes the hair on your arms stand in salute..What an explosive guy and band to give out so much fantastic music and song to the world..
I love the facial expressions...so in tune with the music! The connection of Gary, his guitar, and the music is so amazing...you can just feel it! The only people that don't feel the connection are the dead.
I love guitar and guitarists and been listening to the best of them for over 50 years. And then I discover Gary Moore just a few months ago. I can already tell he's one of the best guitarists I've ever seen
That man was an absolute monster of a player. In a totally different league. What a loss. The reason I and I'm sure countless other people started playing. Hoping that one day you may be able to play 2% as well as him. RIP Mr Moore. In my view one of if not the the greatest player to ever lay hands on an electric guitar.
I have to say that's Gary Moore at his absolute best. There are notes he's pulling out of somewhere that are just making me laugh out loud here. Superb.
I have to agree. I'm not a kid today, and I'm primarily listening to black blues. But nothing else had caused such a cathartic effect. For a long time, though, I looked at Gary with suspicious eyes as someone who later called for the blues train. But seeing these late shots is one of the biggest. Not as a composer, but as a performer.
It's amazing how you can see that the sound that comes out of that guitar is the oral/sound of the expression on his face. It seems that the guitar cries and shouts what he wants to express. The man was an absolute guitar genius.
I’m totally blown away by Gary Moore’s exquisite guitar mastery !! And why haven’t I ever heard him before?? Or where have I been?? That’s because “ WE EMBEDDED OUR DNA WITHIN HIM !! 👽👽👽
this was an incredible musician. I think each musician contributes artistic original pieces. I never saw him live, but oh I sure wish I did, what a talent.
This song is a bit of a blues standard and has been covered many times. I have heard Stevie Ray Vaughan playing it and I thought that was the best till I heard this. It blew me away!
It doesn't get any better than this. Drums, Bass, Hammond Organ and a man whose soul poured out of his guitar and who had the talent and ability to invent new licks as he's playing the song.
This is possibly the finest blues recording ever done!!!!!! Wow. Thanks for putting this on film. What an amazing talent. Never Gary. Even though you’re not on this planet,,, ever think you’ve loved in vain. !!!
He was simply the best electric guitar live performer by a country mile without pier! a masterclass every time he was on stage! And for all his otherworldly, remarkable skills & talents he managed to remain a very private & humble man! Greatly missed RIP
Funny you say that, I bought an old Marshall JCM800 and a Tube screamer years ago after hearing Gary do Hendrix, that was to me the perfect Guitar tone. The first time I turned my amp on when I got home it gave me a fright it was so loud even at the lowest level which is like less than 1 on the Master volume. Even so things were falling off the shelves, the dog and cat ran outside and the baby started crying. Guys like Gary, Pete Townshend and Hendrix back in the 60s and 70s used amps that didn't have a master volume so the amps they learned on were crushingly loud. I feel for my neighbours back then hearing me practice. 😬 Gary Moore makes it look easy. RIP Champ
@@peteyoung7665 I had to go back and watch it again, so that was bloody interesting. I didn't think anyone used the middle pickup mainly just the other 2 like on a Telly. Plus those amps sound so much better dialled in like he does, those amp are just breaking up and then he uses his volume knob and amazing skills to mute all the other strings all while the amp is almost catching fire. Sounds amazing, my favourite player for sure.
What gets me is that Clapton, Page and Blackmore had all the publicity with half the talent of Gary. The people that Gary played with should be shouting from the rooftops (even today!) about his fantastic instinctive blues prowess. Also people at the top of the blues and rock music genre should be highlighting his music.
Blackmore is up there with Gary as being extremely underrated. Both of them didn't get even half the recognition that Page, Clapton and others got which is a shame because I think Ritchie and Gary are better than both of them.
The success of cream no doubt elevated clapton , but this guy is on another level altogether , i think peter greene if he had not eaten off the tree of timothy leary , would be up there as well .
I truly hate that I did not get to see him in concert or SRV. They have different styles but they are the best two that ever was and that ever will be rip Gary rip Stevie Ray. But yeah Gary is a true absolute Master of the electric guitar.
He was one with his guitar, as a part of his body he could do anything when he expressed a feeling through this instrument. Technically a master of all styles he could just let the emotions come out in a way a very few other guitarists ever could. Maybe bad english, sorry for that, but the love and appreciation I have for this musician or magician if you will is beyond everything....wow, always cry when I'm listening to him, RIP Great man!❤️
Yeah, after watching this I had to go and watch him play Red House at the Fender Anniversary, stun the crowd, say thank you very much and just walk off. Epic.
Hot damn!!!!! That's by far the best blues I've ever heard anyone play!!!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! The look he gets on his face, like someone just threw a bottle of lemon juice in it cracks me up! Gary played blues better than anyone ever! Rest in peace buddy... hope I see you again!
Amazing, playing a beautiful Fender Stratocaster, yet he made it sounds like his favourite instrument, the Gibson Les Paul.... RIP Gary Moore, you're immensely missed 💔
Wow! I've seen Johnny Winter twice,Buddy Guy,Tab Benoit,Rickey Medlock,ZZ Top,Foghat,Cheap Trick and more but hes probably the most emotional guitar player I've seen...WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!🤘
