True story. I was near the entrance to Disneyland in Calfornia, the evening of Sat. Dec. 23, 2022. And I saw him with his wife and oldest daughter. I recognized him, and called his name. His wife turned around and then he did. And it blew me away. I was lucky enough to chat with him for a few minutes and took three selfies. I remember asking his daughter if she knew how cool he was. She had headphones on and Gary said "She is probably listening to my music". Super nice guy and humble too. It made my year, as I am a big fan of his. First saw him back in the 1980's, and 3 times in the last 6 or 7 years. He is a pioneer in the field of electronic music and very underrated and under-appreciated. He should be in the Rock Hall of Fame, but those a-holes have about a 20 year backlog to catch up on. Happy New Years to all music lovers out there!
When I think of New Wave music, I think of Gary. He's the reason I've been into electronic & synth music since the first time I heard Cars. So glad to hear about his comeback. Way to go, Gary!! 🏆🏅🥇🎖
Not really a comeback as he never went away or stopped, the hits just dried up because the buying public's music tastes went in different directions whereas Gary stayed true to his style.
Gemma is a sweetheart. I met her at his concert in Salt Lake she was very sweet to me and then I met her again at his Hollywood show. She appreciates his fans she never tries to pull him away from us
Nice to see him laugh and smile so much. I remember him in the 80s.....He didn't smile much at all. He's really mellowed with age. I'm just 2 years younger than Gary. As we age, we should all laugh and take life lightly like Gary.
I remember years ago when gary was young and I was still at school I used to see him on top of the pops was absolutely fascinated by the fact he never used to smile but I love him.more now that he is older and I am love his beautiful smile I swear I will always love him
First concert I've been to in a couple decades was this past May in Ft Wayne Indiana. My wife graduated with her masters degree that afternoon and that evening we were watching Gary Numan on stage followed by Ministry. Ears were still ringing the following morning. Damn good day.
Its a well known fact that Gary travelled into the future to write 'are friends electric'. Truly ground breaking at the time. He should be careful today not to bump into his younger self.....
Seen him on his very first concert tour at the Glasgow Apollo on the Pleasure Principal Tour and seen him on his ‘last’ retirement concert at Wembley Arena. It broke my heart but fortunately he came back, I’ve seen him many times over the years, some good and some bad but this man is responsible for synthesised music. A gentleman and family man to his 3 girls and his beautiful wife Gemma. Always a Numanoid ❤️🖤❤️🖤
if you could pop mr numan back into those leathers right now. we could all be whisked back to the late 70’s / early 80’s. he looks incredible.! whatever you’re doing, keep it up, it’s working for you.! 😉 such a humble guy too.! 😄 🤘🏻🇦🇺🌏🤘🏻
I absolutely love Gary Numan. I’m an OG Numanoid since year 1. I’ve seen 4 concerts and met him three times. I’m glad that he keeps his British accent and he doesn’t try to sing with an American accent he stands out
Ok gorgeous Gary I will give up trying to chase you babe you and your lovely wife Gemma look so good together you are made for each other I'm really happy for you both stay safe xxxx
One of the UKs finest sons. Funny how the Tories have nothing but disdain for this country's born brilliant. Have fond memories of seeing you in your white Corvette outside school in Shepperton picking up your brother. My Tubeway Army vinyl ran thread bare by that time. I was very much on my own with my music tastes at school, Tuxedomoon, Naked Lunch, Lemon Kittens, Cabaret Voltaire, Bauhaus, Neon etc. and loved your stuff. IMO your music was a bridge from New wave, punk/post punk to industrial. You were a true innovator and opened my eyes and ears whilst identifying/affiliating me at the same time. Much Love GW
Gary Numan is my absolute favorite musician then and now! _That said I wish the English people would be a little nicer to Adam Ant, like they are to Gary. They both made the '80s fun!
@@coldw4rningIt was a great show and not long after the dream corrosion gig at Hammersmith. I considered him to be the main act of that night. OMD were good though
Gary used to be very creative and I was a huge fan from 1981-1995. I saw him for the first time in ‘98. He is stuck in a Nine Inch Nail loop for the past 28 years. His bass really stink now as well. 👎🏻
Great guy great musician, I wish somebody close to him would perhaps suggest he gets rid of that hair set up. So unnatural. Put loyalty and blinkers to the side and face reality he looks like a sketch parody.
