Love is unsafe I'm sure Wrong love, Wrong time, Wrong move. Love is too short, too sharp. Wrong men, Wrong place, Wrong heart. I don't believe in love and I don't believe in you and I don't believe in anything Love is too cold, too close. Because pictures TV Love is you ??????? with film. You don't know me at all.
@andy morris I thought it was a statement on copycat acts/followers, or those stuck in a rut. "These New Romantics are oh so boring / I could swear I've been there once or twice before"... and he uses a rewrite of his own song to illustrate that point. Dance was a very different record to Pleasure Principle, and Numan prides himself on looking forward. Moral suggests, "see, I've done the things they're doing now before, and better. Remember?"
@andy morris ah, I see. That's strange because to me it jumped out right away. We Have A Technical is also a mashup of other songs that would be released later (I always assumed he cannibalized "We Have A Technical" because he didn't intend to release it at the time . Even within Pleasure Principle, "Cars" recalls elements of "Observer", and "Conversation" recalls "Metal." I never saw that as a lack of ideas, but an intentional repetition of motifs.
Very bad mix+sound !! But,by the way,Ive always liked this song !! For me its a one of many "secret hits" of Gary !!! Maybe just pop-music,but who cares at all ....

Is this really the same man who created Down in the Park/We Are Glass/Cars/Music for Chameleons and much more innovative material? Sorry, but this is very poor in comparison.
He was trying to keep his career alive, he needed a song in the charts. He should have sold this song to someone else because it is incredibly catchy. He openly admits this was a bad time for him. As you say, hard to believe that the same person wrote Down In The Park.
He was in his early 20s when he made DITP. This was written 10 years later, when Gary had already been burned by all the Music Industry crap. It was a low point in his career. And yet this sounds miles ahead better than most rubbish these days. The early version is more Rock centric and is way better in my opinion.
@@KronnangDunn sounds like a masterpiece compared to his output today , new anger was his first album that i thought naaah but he proved with dream corrosion that he was not gone yet
