Kobe was such a class act. On the field he was competitor, his skills elevated everyone else's skills. You had to be at your best if you played with or against Kobe. He was a great leader in the Beijing Olympics as many players on that team gave their testimonials on Kobe. This one hurt, rest in peace Kobe & GiGi. One can only find solace in hoping that they were taken away too soon because they had a higher calling from the creator. Kobe's influence transcends basketball, which is a testament to who he was and what he had accomplished in such a short amount of time.
This is so fire. I love this interview. This was so great to see when I was thinking about Kobe today. I looked up Gary Payton best day ever.❤ may you all have a blessed day
i'm really happy that Gary Payton got a, well deserved, ring with the Miami Heat. However, it would have been even sweeter if he got a couple of rings with Seattle in the 90's! it just wasn't meant to be though.
"Hey Kob, Hey uh, how did you change in your older, in your older, your not old by any means, im not tryin to put that on you, but as youre getting older, youve done everything from lead the league in scoring to win championships, just you know, everytime you hear commentators or people talk they say maturity, i dont know or if its there, or if you know, i just want to know, how do you felt, that you've developed up to this point, are you a different player today, cuz somtimes we see you may not try to shoot the ball for a few minutes, other times you let it come to you, i just wanna hear from your own mouth, you know kinda how are you different today?" - Chris Webber GREAT QUESTION
at around 2:45-2:51 when he says you have to let you teammates grow and make decisions instead of trying to make plays all the team that is something that LeBron has not learned yet
@GEMENI76 Dude, Gary Payton in the 90's was the best two way Guard since John Stockton. Gary Payton is one of the greatest perimeter defenders of all time.. im talking topp 5. And yes Gary Did win a ring in 2006 with the Miami Heat
gp is cool man i actually meet him in korea at an autograph signing and the i had on a kobe jersey the first thing he said to me was " why you comin in here with that busted up shitty jersey" i cracked up and told him he was old and he costed our team a ring but yea he is a joker for sure
lol @ kids who talk bad about GP.. dude was the best PG of his generation, probably the best defender of all time, the only guy who could legitimately guard MJ. just watch the funny video and appreciate these legends, GP and Kobe. no need to argue about it.
This is the 109th time I’ve heard Kobe say they needed to get more physical (pau). Instant 2 chips. He even says he let his teammates grow and that made him better. What a ball hogging selfish player. People just love the narrative better that he doesn’t use his teammates. And then when he does use his teammates (with a broken finger/ton of other injuries) artest saved him , and gasol saved him. Smh can’t win by shooting it or passing it with the media mamba. Good job mamba.
People dont realize bron is fuckin his teammates up every year cuz of this problem kobe figured out back in 06, letting his team score/operate without him, dominating on command when he needs to, bron runs everything through him, n doesnt even put his team in good position, he spaces them to help himself, ppl love his stats cuz they come to him so easy, theyre wasy because of his system
He always gave good interviews but played pissed off on the court. If anything, he was much more laid back last year knowing he was at the end than in previous years.
@hkvn0928 Actually, that's the difference between the Lakers in the Kobe era and the Cavs in the LeBron era. I don't know why ppl like to make rings out to be an individual accomplishment. GP and Stockton are two of the greatest PG's of all time and they only have 1 ring between them. That doesn't make Derek Fisher a better PG than either of them. It only make the Lakers in Fisher's era a better team than The Jazz or Sonics in GP's and Stockton's era.
@PostalPete why do assume that thats' what i ment? "ya" is not a Word or let me put it this way we should even consider to know what that person is saying when they use "YA" in a sentence.
Much Much better. Webber seems so real and just cool and takes allot of sense. Shaq is always looking for attention, has a huge ego and is very annoying though funny at times.
@sem2006fr They actually pay these guys a lot of money to be on national tv. They dont ask. Kobe & Gary personally dont like being on tv, they only do it because they're paid, but u, I nor any1 else r required 2watch them. Only if u want 2.
gary payton made me watch nba tv much more and made it entertaining, and i aint even black. do you want it to be bland and boring? their being themselves, their being real. right now i cant even stand to watch gametime just boring bland commentary and interviews. when GP left/fired chris webber went straight into uncle tom status.
