@@andykishore I think he wanted to give season 4 it's first special, so he looked at an aspect of a previous episode and decided to work with it and make sense for a 20 minute episode, so it will be more detailed, in dumped gary only went with Patrick however in have you seen this snail? Gary has fully disappeared

Dumped was done right. It wasn’t meant to be deeply emotional, it was meant to be hilarious with the undertones of a soap opera 😂

@ammash3000 Patrick literally steals Gary from SpongeBob - his best friend, mind you - decides to also be an asshole about it, uses his washing machine without SpongeBob's permission even, and one point calls him *pathetic.* And ALL of this pointless drama happened because Gary wanted the cookie in Patrick's pocket. Are you shitting me right now?! What's even more insane is that Gary was barely even making an attempt to even grab the cookie when he had the chance. In fact, how exactly did the cookie get in Patrick's pocket in the first place? There also barely seemed to be many jokes in the episode either. At least Patrick wasn't unlikable in "Have You Seen This Snail?".

2nd theory is more likely, her eating them is a bit too dark for Spongebob and there is nothing that points to it in the episode.

@@kristijanEX This was largely due to censorship. According to technical writer Vincent Waller, the tray of cookies she was swinging at Gary was originally supposed to be an axe. Even as it is, her throwing the cookies like ninja stars suggests malice more than obliviousness/senility to me.

@kristijanEX the way she’s throwing the cookies at him as if they were weapons and the tone of her voice as she chases Gary let’s us know her intentions were dark and disturbing

Yeah, it reminds me of Coraline. The grandma treats him very well and gives Gary everything SpongeBob couldn't (like the car driving), but It's not who she seems to be and has a dark secret..

That's right. The old lady loved all her pet snails until she decided she wanted to eat them. She fed them all a lot and fattened them up and ate them. I'm guessing "Miss Tuffsy" is the one who got away. She was one of those snails but she managed to escape before being eaten and the old lady has been looking for her ever since but of course she's long gone. And now that she's senile she confuses every stray snail as Miss Tuffsy. Honestly this old lady storyline reminds me of Coraline. Spending years luring innocent unsuspecting victims one right after another into her home, treating each of them with love and care, feeding them good food and all of it being just so she could eat them later. Sounds just like the Other Mother/Beldam.

I can't remember exactly what, but I think I remember hearing about the original plans for the episode. Not only was going to be the shows first TV movie, but it's plot was more darker than what we actually ended up getting.

Yeah, but why is no one talking about Gary who gave the old lady a poor street snail.. (I didn't notice this, I know this from other video).

But it does. While Season 4 has gems, the humor leaves a lot to be desired compared to seasons 2 and 3. I will say, Dunces and Dragons is honestly in my top 10 SpongeBob episodes and if memory serves, it’s a season 4 special, but I still believe the decline is somewhat noticeable this season. The plot of a lot of episodes just feel a bit too forced and lack the creativity and charm of its previous seasons.
