He was on TV for (literally) 4+ hours today. He hosts the Pebble Beach Pro-am and he sits in the booth with the guys. He's so laid back in that setting - you dont often have the opportunity to see him just laughing and shooting the bull with guys like that. Good stuff.

Do you know what you (and by you, I mean Americans) REALLY need? To give fewer fucks about teams, and more fucks about solving problems. You may not realize it, but the (unwritten) general approach that reliably cohesive countries like New Zealand, Australia, and Canada (which are post-colonial, post-slavery, multiethnic countries, just like yours) employ is as follows: when your national election comes up, you disagree, you debate, you argue. Then, on election day, you cast your ballot, and you watch what happens. After election day, you cheer if your party/candidate won, and you lament if they lose, and then you go back to seeing each other as your fellow countrymen & and women. Over time, issues come up, and you debate how best to solve them, but you never stop remembering that the people with whom you debate are your fellow citizens who, in case of a disaster, are your neighbors upon whom you rely. Why wait until another Pearl Harbor or 9/11 style catastrophe before you stop, think about how meaningless your petty differences are, and simply decide that it's time to work together again? Do that shit WITHOUT the disaster!

@@RJL612 It was never late. Hollywood has only been liberal for several decades, but it has existed for a century. These celebrities have always been conservative, and there are hundreds and hundreds more who you probably know. Just as there are hundreds of liberals and otherwise you dont know. Because it's about their performances and stories, which dont have to be political. Of course those who do Express those views: Republicans - you dont hear much. And liberals get all the traction, and put those views in their films and constantly talk about it. But there are many conservatives and many liberals who shut up and focus on their storytelling apolitically. Those idiot brain dead fools who call themselves conservative "boycotting Hollywood" for liberalism and bitching they'll never watch a Hollywood movie again...Lol okay. Who gives a whit?! Dumber than nails.

a "patriot" who would NEVA pick up a weapon to defend this country but who made his fortune via a con job role in a movie fooling people into calling him a "patriot" and now he's this hero for the troops. Puke. Just like his fellow cons like trump, etc. who ran from the chance to fight for the country I love. Like Hannity, bill o'reilly, Gingrich -- all of them -- did I forget dick Cheney who had "other priorities". Eww. What a pathetic bunch of pussies.

He came to Savanah just as my battalion was preparing to deploy in 2003. He shook every single man's hand. Thank you Ben for this. Gary, my dad a VN vet, came home to upstate NY (far upstate)got a two year degree courtesy of Uncle Sam and had a career with Kodak in Rochester. He met my mom left with 2 girls from a broken marriage to a womanizer. They married and had my sister and I. Moved to Indiana still working for Kodak, to where mom is from. We’ve all been here ever since. It wasn’t until later dad struggled with issues from nam. But thanks to my mom staying by his side and our family and faith he made it out the other side! Cancer, thanks to agent orange was a hard time for all of us, but he’s 72 now retired and golfing three times a week. 10 grand kids and a passion for conservative politics. Its refreshing to see a celebrity who has an overall optimistic view of America, instead of simply painting this delusional view espoused by many celebs of America as this dystopia rife with inequality and suffering. This country is not perfect, but it is still a great place to live, and is worth fighting for and being proud of. Celebrities used to celebrate america, and take pride in it, instead of shitting on it like so many do now.

In an entertainment industry full of vapid, pompous individuals, Gary Sinise truly stands apart as an icon of decency, patriotism, gratitude, and genuineness. Amazing interview!

I don't buy celebrity books/products, but I'll be making an exception for Sinise's book. He's to be commended for all his vocal support and work for our veterans and active service!

Honestly, it feels really refreshing each time I learn about another actor in Hollywood being Conservative. That sounds weird to say because an actor's politics shouldn't necessarily be important but in today's climate, it's just nice to know that one more person isn't on the Hollywood elitist bandwagon.

This is one of my favorite Ben Shapiro interviews. It made me feel more positive and as though even a small contribution that I could make, in a similar way, could improve somebody's life

Love your work, Gary! I loved the Memorial Day special you did featuring one of my personal heroes, Hershey Miyamura. I had the privilege to sort of introduce him to my generation when I nominated him to be grand marshal of Gallup High's homecoming parade. Many didn't know him. I got to relay his story to my friends, thanks to my Aunt being sure my cousins and I knew of his actions in Korea. It brought tears to my eyes to see him honored once again. Thank you so much for sharing both Hershey and Joe with America!

When I gave this a thumbs up I noticed there were 40 people that gave this a thumbs down. How, I don't understand how someone can give this a thumbs down. Gary Sinese is a great American hero, with all the support he's given American veterans.

This was a tremendous interview. I've been watching Gary for a long time. This opened my eyes more to his impact with his movies like Forest Gump on our Viet Nam Veterans.
