If I were an Orioles fan and lived in the Baltimore area Gary Thorne would be the only reason at this point that I would even watch that team. Because as bad as the Orioles have been Gary Thorne's announcing is so good that he actually makes watching that team tolerable. I used to feel that way in the late 80's and early 90's when I watched those lousy Yankee teams listening to Phil Rizzuto was like therapy for me. I never would have gotten through those years without him.

Because he’s playing 1/6 games against a team he absolutely rakes against his final numbers will be much higher than the rest of the league. Change my mind.
