Great video, just had my Goodman checked, my tech cleaned burners, but did not blow them out.

Of course he did not do the job properly. He wants to come back soon and charge for another call. Get a new HVAC guy on future service.

Thanks. The hvac people in my area are clueless. “Works fine when I’m here. Pay me!” The young techs have to be told what’s wrong. No diag experience

Hello The failure of flame sensing happens when the flame current is less than designed or the detection circuit on PCB is damaged. The flame current is determined by the resistance of the flame itself, which is a given constant, plus the resistance of the two poles exposed to the flame: the flame sensor and the burner's front area. In my case, after multiple tries of various successes, cleaning the flame detector became ineffective. I was ready to replace the furnace but I gave a try in cleaning the corresponding burner. Its surface felt rough. After cleaning and resetting it all worked just fine with the sensor previously considered as ineffective.

I agree with all of that. Burners are just as important as the flame sensor itself. I believe burners should be cleaned regularly as well as replaced when basic cleaning is not enough. The burners have more to do with how that furnace operates than many consider. A combustion analyzer can show you that. But yes I agree! Thanks for watching! Be sure to subscribe! Have a great day!

I have a Daikin gas furnace and the middle burner have some rust on the plate assembly of the burner, What can be be the cause ? The heat exchanger look clean and the burner too (can send some pic) Any idea ?

I watched a few videos done by you, however unfortunately could not find one on the 59 series carrier. Could you load one showing, removing, cleaning & reinstalling the burners? on 59 series carrier. Thanks

*my burners were clean yet I continue to get delayed ignition POP/BURP/FART but very little in terms of flame that is outside the norm.. what could it be? once ignited, everything works fine*

Either improper ignitor placement, burner misalignment, gas pressure problem or faulty burners of some sorts. Sounds like it's time to have a tech take a look at it. That's what they are there for. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Be sure to subscribe and share. Have a great day!

Nobody wants to pay for the extra hr it will take to clean them even if you explain that it is necessary and thats why your price is a lil higher. But I agree it's the right thing to do

only way to make those big 120k a year numbers as a pro tech and not own ur own business.. you gotta take pics at old jobs with ruined burner tubes you had to replace and explain the cost of replacing vs getting them cleaned every year not to mention the damage done to the exchanger I have no issue selling burner cleanings. Covid has been my best friend iv been selling almost 1 iWave air purifier a day some weeks those bad boys are 350 a pop our cost try selling one those to a customer lol gotta get them to see the value and why they need it and not the price tag but at same time not force or be a duch bag these are return customers you deal with a lot...

Thread protector on the gas supply piping is a big no no, that would fail inspection in my area, a 1/2” malleable coupling has to be used here.

Hey my furnace makes a periodic rumbling noise. It is very noticeable at night. Could it be the burners? It occurs when the furnace is both on and off. And strangely it only happens when the outside air temperature is very low

I dunno. There's a lot of options but if it's no matter of if the the furnace is running or not... Doubt it's the burners. Burners can only make noises if the furnace is on and burning. Could be your inducer motor assembly, either the motor itself is going, or some part of the plastic fan blade broke off. This was the case with my inducer assembly at beginning of this month. Easy to remove and install new one. At least take it out and check it out first.

Wash them in the sink. Hot water , wire brush and cleaner. This is the best way imo.

Most of them, the burners sit on bent clips like this Goodman does to where they won't lift out unless the back end of the burner drops down. Not all are like this but mine in the video is.

@@hvacstandard I guess I'm just used to Tranes. They just have a bracing bar across the top of the burners held in with two screws. And then they lift right out, without the need to remove the manafold.

Not typically. Least not on anything high efficient. Your gonna have a pretty hard time with that. Maybe some of the older natural draft furnaces could be if they do start to get deposits. But for the most part, a furnace that is burning properly should have any soot or deposits in the heat exchanger. A combustion analyzer is THE ONLY way to know if a unit is burning correctly. Might have to call a contractor for that. If you do I would only recommend a tech that is certified in combustion analysis testing. It could get dangerous if someone does not know what they are doing but it's the only way. The myths of flame color or just set gas pressure and run away are wrong. So I know I wondered on that answer a little.... Lol. .... But no they typically don't need it unless they have been burning improperly and are sooted or something like that.
