This idea is brilliant, and it's so easy to implement. Your video was really helpful. To ensure a smooth closure, I went with a smaller shock from Apexstone shop, which is almost 8 inches long, precisely 7.68 inches, and has a force capacity of 80N - it's absolutely perfect!

I had the same spring on my electrics box, it would slam closed every time I came down hard off a wave. I replaced it with a gas piston from Amazon a few years ago.

Hi i have an 2017 sx190 and igot an issue past weeknd, my boat starts taking in water to the engine compartment really bad while moving (driving) as soon as i stop the boat it stops taking in water. While being anchor not water takes in. Any idea what i have to look for? Thanks in advance

Have you witnessed where it is coming in? How do you know it is only while moving? It could be the seal in the intermediate bearing but you would see it while the engine is running while in the water.
