The thing is in both scenarios he’s playing well some nights the shots don’t fall doesn’t mean he’s not playing well because there are ways to actually win games by doing well in other areas and letting teammates pick up the scoring slack
Nobody ever said Tatum wasn't shooting well BECAUSE he was grabbing boards and handing out assists. The point is that he can shoot poorly and still have an impact on the game in other ways. Obviously it's better if he shoots well and scores a bunch too.
He referenced Tatum’s last 3 games, but the 2 games he scored 30, he wasn’t that efficient and team scored less than 110, the last game he scored only 25 pts, but was efficient and they scored above 110. It’s not all about scoring, he’s doing other great things that contribute to winning. Gets triggered if you call him a casual fan.
Gasper has a weird contempt for Tatum. I know the thumbnail suggests otherwise but as they point out... Was only praising him so he could then retroactively justify the criticism from earlier.

Nobody every claimed Tatum had to score less so he could do all the other things. Those of us with a brain were saying he wasn't playing poorly just cause he wasn't shooting well, because he was doing all the other stuff.
He doesn't believe in him, he was only praising him so he could then turn around and say "so see my previous criticism is justified."frankly I wouldn't care except for he's had this ongoing contempt for Tatum that's bordering on irrational. People need to remember this is fairly a new team. They added two new starters. So let’s say they got to the finals and lost in seven games. That is not a bust for me. Just makes me more excited for next season. Still, I believe they’re going to win it just like in 2008 when we got Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen every time the Celtics get a great big they win a championship We have not had a great big since Kevin Garnett. Ppl say Shaq me when I say that and I just laugh. He just came here to have some fun that was it. Lol.
There not saying what you think they're saying. They are saying yeah he's having trouble scoring but he is doing the other stuff. You're argument isn't grasping the idea.
