Omg I watched your videos but I wasn’t signed into RU-vid so for the last three days I been looking for your videos I’m so glad I found you lol I love your videos there so inspiring I’m a week post op and I’m so sick of liquids
I hate it when the constipation sets in. I have bottles of milk of magnesia all over the house and in my travel bag. :/ Congrats on your loss so far! You're totally awesome!
Foodie Turned Sleevie It doesn't happen a lot any more, but when I first started puree it was really bad and now I am always a little paranoid it'll happen again. So I keep it around just in case. Once you can do fruits and veggies it gets a lot better!
I love your updates! You we're one of the first WLS accounts I found before my surgery and I've loved watching every moment. Our journeys have been so different but also similar. I guess I'm just saying thanks for sharing!
Totally impressed by your dedication to liquids - I'm not sure I would be willing to stay up to make my intake! I get the fear, use it to your advantage for now as willpower isn't always enough. Your surgeon is pushing you way more than mine who didn't want me doing anything other than walking for the first month. Make sure you watch for dehydration as working out means you need to drink even more. Great that you are listening to your body. For constipation some of the other youtubers have recommended Smooth Move tea which contains senna.
Thanks! Yeah, I'm going to try at the gym again next week, but this week, my body was saying "no way." Haha. And yes, I definitely don't want to get dehydrated--I've seen folks end up back in the hospital that way, and I don't want that to be me.
Great weight loss~ I'm with you! Being constipated sucks!! I'm in the same boat this week~ So I feel your pain/discomfort~ Hope you get your flow back soon~
Thanks! And yes, I had never experienced that before! It was pretty terrible, but right after I finished this video, the laxative kicked in and I felt SO much better. Hope you feel better, soon, too.
I totally hear you on eating and drinking being so active! Any period of time without water is such a problem...you have to stay up that much longer at the end of the day to get it all in. Ummm....constipation is still kind of an issue for me. Trying Miralax now and it's helped just a little but not the "cleansing" (LOL) I would hope for. You're doing so well! Can't wait to keep up with your progress!
Yes, I totally understood when you said that if you nap, it's a loss of water-time. Haha, I feel the same way! I don't know why but my doctor specifically said for me to use Dulcolax instead of Miralax. No clue why, but it's worked so far. Thanks for watching.
same on the bad breath!! lol. my daughter let me know it smelled like "chemicals and poop" haha!!! I know a friend who had it and she said the same thing happened to her. the soft cheese sounds good. I was tempted to buy some last weekend at Costco. I might this weekend. good job on the loss!! 20 lbs in 2 weeks is amazing!!!!!
Thank you! And your daughter is spot-on with her description! Hahaha! Be careful with the cheese--it's delicious, but I've had to super super super chew it to not feel discomfort.
that's a fantastic loss. I hear you on the actvity of making sure your getting everything in. I also have a gurgly belly. I feel like it's a baby belly making so much noise. way to go with staying on plan. I'm the same with the fear of hurting my stomach by eating off plan. I ended up in the ER for the dehydration even though I was getting 64oz. now I have to up my water pretty heavily if I want to avoid the ER again 😢.
Oh no, I'm so afraid of that! How did you know it was time to go back to the hospital? I'm always afraid I'm going to ignore a sign. Glad you're doing better now, though.
You look so pretty!! Great loss so far!! So amazed by you! I wish I had dropped mine as quickly. The protein must be nice. I remember that day. It was wonderful! Premier with coffee is like my favorite!! Mmmm. Thanks for all the MFP premiere info. I've always wondered about it but never knew anyone who did! Love ya girl and glad the lovenox is almost done. That kinda sucks! Plain water doesn't sit well with me. Not sure why but I can't imagine drinking while working out. Take some stool softeners each day. It'll help keep things moving. Dulcolax will usually get you going but takes a while. Drink lots of water with it!! 😘💗😘💗
Aw thanks, I felt really pretty yesterday. :) Again with the TMI, but the Dulcolax worked right after I finished filming this video, so YAY but I'm definitely going to keep taking Colace every day--hopefully this won't happen again. Haha. Thanks for watching!
Well unless you have a medical condition where you can’t ever drink caffeine and it hurt you, there is absolutely no reason why you cannot have caffeine. My doctor said the same thing when I had my surgery eight years ago and a lot of Drs. Still tow that line of no caffeine but as the years have passed, they’re finding that having caffeine does not change anything or cause any problems. Its the sugar that changes everything, so stay away from sugar. However saying that, in some people, caffeine can increase your cravings for sugar but that’s not everybody and there’s also Splenda and Stevia for that. I would say depending on how far you’re out, don’t drink any caffeine until you’re at least six months or so out.
@@lovinglanguages1 THANK YOU SO MUCH 👏 I figured with it being acidic to wait a few months but never any caffeine again seems harsh for a coffee addict. The dr tried to tell me it makes you hungry and I’m like noooo coffee is an appetite suppressant for me.
I hope you've changed this now. It's because caffeine can be a diuretic, but there is conflicting information about this in research lately. Small/moderate amounts of caffeine is ok.
so im a new subbie. I thinking about weight loss surgery. I've struggled with weight loss all my life. I went to a seminar and my next step is to see my PCP 1st and see if she would give me the referral I need. I love your videos. You have a smooth soft relaxing voice but yet with tons of info.
Just started my WLS journey. I contacted my insurance company for details, and I submitted my bariatric questionnaire to the Bariatric Clinic at University of Iowa. You mentioned lovenox injections ...is that part of the post-op process?
Thanks for watching! I'm sure you're going to do great, too. Post op, I've been allowed 1 cup of caffeinated drink per day (coffee, tea, etc), but honestly, in my first week post op I didn't want it at all. I mostly just slept a lot and walked a lot, drank water, Powerade Zero, and ate jello. In week 2, I started protein, so a Premier in a cup of coffee has been my go-to. It's delicious.
Hello, I had VSG last Monday Aug. 17, Tomorrow is my 1 week post surgery. Wanted to know when were you cleared for working out? And when that happened, what was your routine?
Well they definitely encouraged me to start walking, walking, walking as soon as I got out of surgery. I forced myself to do this and it helped a lot. I think I started doing group exercise classes at week 5, if I recall correctly. If you look at that video, I think I mention it.
Appreciate your feedback, thanks! I have been walking a lot... today marks my two weeks post op. I am up to 3 miles a day. So far going well, and down 24lbs. Looking forward to the road ahead. Am also following your new videos, congrats on the new house.
