The reason maxx c is good for the person who starts second is because it can be used before negates are set up and even then they have hand traps that can still negate or trivialize Maxx c

​@@bakerfftoo2912pendulum zarc and vaylantz most of the time dont play maxx c and only play ash blossom and called, some deck are designed to be all gas without room for maxx c, some deck are designed to be able to play maxx c without repercussion of getting brick. The risk of bricking is harder than hoping it resolve or not. Also, you know exactly why runick combo is so unpopular in ocg right? Most combo deck can outright otk you turn 2, runick combo? you lose you battle while getting Turn 2 maxx c ed means you cant close game right away.

I forget the name of the spell off the top of my head but there's a Kashtra (might have wrong spelling) continuous spell that allows you to normal summon Level 7 monsters without tribute.

Elf isn't nearly as bad as the other 2 options lol. It's a very very strong card, and probably should be banned, but it's nowhere near the level of ban worthiness that Maxx C and floodgates are at, IMO anyway.

Also it's Destruction/Banish protection for monsters is actually a lingering effect. So even if you remove it from field or negate Gymir later in the turn the rest of the Monsters are still guarded. It's sorta wacky.

Gymir Aegirine requires specifically Water Tuner while Chaos Angel requires non-Tuner Light or Dark. If we are talking generic I'm pretty sure Water Tuner cards is rarer than non-Tuner Light/Dark. Not to mention Chaos Angel can be made with all non-Tuners further simplifying the process.

I built some of that deck and it immediately cost far too much UR. So I gave up and made a GG focused deck. Much better for my fun, maybe worse off for play

This isn't accurate. You can get 3 syncros and mouling if you summon Prince first off of Diva. This man was either unaware or simply wasn't playing the cards to get it done. I'll chalk it up to a misplay because he summoned Tatsu likely assuming he searched a level 7 for it but forgot he search diva twice instead for some reason. Actual end board here without interruption should have been Gymir, Baronne, and Cheng after the rip 2.

Depends if you want to handrip 2 or handrip 1. You effectively aren't handripping for 2 if you go through Prima Donna since you're giving them a card back and most decks aren't running cards they won't want to see in their opening hand.

@@D4PPZ456 ​I admit, wasn't familiar with the tastunoko line. But their opening hand was imperm, ash, synchro overtake, ice jade cradle, and aegirocassis. You cannot get three synchro 10s with that hand. The best you get is a handloop 2 and two synchro 10s. Also the level 7 you're talking about is poseidra.

@@TinPrince The tatsunoko line is actually a better combo if you already have ran aegerine in hand. I wasn't familiar with it, but they did not play it properly.

@dunkkrunk3368 there's a separate line through Metal Marcher that gets you to 3 syncros off of Diva and Ran. The man had all the cards he needed for the double hand rip and triple syncro. Also, you have to run Abyssmegalo instead of poseidra to make it work.

Just make it unable to activate if you control cards.

@@Omega2Clone Winda should have and should still be banned. The problem with all these "anti-combo" cards is that they hit every deck, because almost every deck summons 3 or more times per turn. A combo deck summons like 20 times in a turn. Yes, that is a problem, but all of the cards that stop that except Nibiru will still win the duel against a normal deck summoning 3 times.

@@omegacxv8344 because my Maxx c never gets to resolve with 6 answers to it. 1/2 the time it wont. Ontop of which, if they did maxx c on a turn 2 after popping off. 2 things will happen, Deck out OR they were going to win regardless because the combos are that ridiculous with or without maxx c. A world with maxx c on vaylantz to draw the out to Secret village apollousa dyna lock or spright where no other hand traps matter or Mathmech circular as a 1 card terahertz/accesscode IS FAR MORE PREFERABLE.

@@omegacxv8344 Simple, stop playing meta, play rogue (OR JUST PLAY NON META) without maxx c. See how quickly you get owned, de rank etc etc. Then play it WITH maxx c. See how often you get the CHANCE to ACTUALLY PLAY a non top cut deck. I havent touched kashtira fenrir once! didn't go into spright, didn't use swoso, didnt touch tear. The card ENABLES more variety of decks, yes it can come down to maxx c challenge but some of ya'll are degenerates with no moral compass and will happily play kashtira below 10k DP, you aren't going to worlds, stop already. They REALLY need to add an honor system to MD for stuff like that.

@@rynobehnke8289 this doesnt fix anything. Duel Links rules cannot be applied to MD or YGO in general, because duel links has a 20 cards main deck minimum, while normal YGO has a 40 card minimum. This itself makes balancing all the limits and semi limits a big deal. just look at what master rule 4 did. It nearly killed the OCG completely because Konami tried such a drastic measure. If we did take DL's ban system, we would get metas where Decks that can play without generic strong cards would reign supreme, to which those decks would get hit, after that the cycle would go on and on until the only viable decks would be clustertrucks of decks, that have like 5 different one card starter engines in them or decks that have no coherent synergy, and you just hope to draw any starter at all. The Duel Links system works in duel links cause the deck and field sizes are smaller.

@@omegacxv8344 That logic doesn't really check out as the same if badly handled is true for the current ban system. That would also fall apart if they would just start banning all semi-usful cards in the game. If anything is Yugioh as a game currently way to heavily designed around very powerful staples which raises there price sky high and than makes the barrier of entrance really high. That would be far less of an issue if more decks would have to make the decision between powerful generics or own theme deck engine peaces. Master Rule 4 was so damaging because it basically forced every deck to run links as the previous decade prior to it had the game evolve to where almost all decks were just designed around special summoning half your extra deck and than use the powerful extra deck monster effects and attack points to win. As such did Master Rule 4 destroy the majority of decks that were being played at the time as a ton didn't have the space for Link Monster. My idea would as a limited and forbidden list extension just hit specific decks as only the best decks would have cards which paar ratting would clash with the good generic stuff. I would weaken good decks while mediocre and bad decks would gain far more easy access to the good generic stuff as there main deck obviously wouldn't contain as many cards on the list.
