I love how you kept lelei accurate to the actual story with her now being able to tell what is what, just like in the anime when she starts learning about the technologies of our world. Great work. This is the best gacha reactions of Sabaton I have seen!
"How big is this army truly!?" The Germans had 18 million men at the height of their power, Japan had 15 million, Italy had about 3.5 million. Meanwhile the French had 11 million, the British had 8 million (couldn't find a source that included the commonwealth, and I'm too lazy to figure that out myself, so...), the Americans had 20 million, and the Soviets had a total of about 32 million.
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 No, the US had less of a population then USSR and instead of sending more people they might have done more air support as they are now closer and this one order from Stalin says it all "Order No.227 Not a Step Back"
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 Also i dont know where he got the numbers from but most of what i found for US is from 8-15 million and for USSR 20-34 million

5:50 Hamilton: "Atleast we're allied with Japan. Hold on- What was Japan doing at that time period..? Itami: *shivers out pf nowhere* "I am in danger."
"Hold on, what was Japan doing at that time period?" I'm not going to go into specifics here, but let's just say that it was bad enough that we deemed it necessary to drop the sun on them. Twice.
No, the sun was dropped twice because the alternatives were *_outright worse_* than nukes. One is Operation STARVATION, which is precisely what it says on the tin: literally starve Japan into surrendering... and they just had the worst crop failure in *_its history_* happen a few months before. The other is Operation DOWNFALL, aka the Charlie Foxtrots to *_END_* all Charlie Foxtrots. To say that the best-case scenario had us print enough Purple Hearts that they only ran low in the mid-2000s says a lot about the casualty figures. The officers *_not_* of MacArthur's little club understood that US troops would effectively carry out a genocide of the Japanese people *_out of proper paranoia_* (the Japanese soldiery kept showing how far they would go to win and the civilians would be forced to be a part of this).
The very song that got me into both Sabaton *AND* GATE. Glad to see that the crew now know the true might and steel of the Soviet army along with Swedish music
it occurs to me that the rose knights might find the yarnhub version of "no bullets fly" quite touching... a man who gave up knighthood to preserve his honor. unable to bring himself to kill a wounded enemy incapable of fighting back, and instead leading his enemy to safety. and later, was lauded for his actions. also, visually seeing the damage that "ye olde pub" took with their own eyes so they can marvel that the aircraft is still flying
thanks for the reaction. My great-grandfather died there. He was a tanker and he died during this battle with his colleagues. Thank you for showing young people what our ancestors went through.
That was another great reaction video. Great job my friend. Yao was a pleasant surprise. Everyone is definitely shocked at the size of the army's. I wonder how they would react to japan in ww2.
Aside from the sudden invasion from IJM, they would also witness the division between the IJA and the IJN if there were any body of water available to hold the navy.
They came out with a new song recently. The Frist Soldier, a very uplifting and patriotic song about Albert Severin Roche, a man of small stature, but big heart in WWI.
God imagine if Sabaton had a song about Operation Bagration. If they thought this was “huge” in scale. They haven’t seen the Soviets throw absolutely everything into one massive offensive that it crushes an entire army group (Army group centre) and spearheads their entire assault down to the boarders of German/central Poland in just over a handful of months. And the big one. Germany had zero knowledge it was going to happen till it happened. The Soviets planned it so secretly that not a single enemy was noticed until the offensive started and most German reinforcements had been sent south to Ukraine.
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 Essentially what they was improve on what they did at Kursk - during the battle of Kursk the Soviets managed to conceal all their fighting positions from the Germans to the point that non were found until they opened fire. For Bagration they went extreme. For one the Germans we’re expecting an offensive in the Ukraine as the Soviets had just won alot of territory there. However, the Soviets instead moved equipment into Belarus infront of army group centre. They only moved at night and during the day they made sure everything was concealed and didn’t use their lights but instead painted the bumpers on all their vehicles white so that those behind could see them. Also movement during the day was heavily heavily restricted to the point only those with passes could move. And only 100 passes were given per army. In addition they had constant inspections on how units camouflaged their positions plus aircarft would fly overhead and drop pegs if they noticed a unit which told them to conceal their positions better. They concealed their armoured divisions away from forward positions and in large areas of woodlands, while infantry units were concealed in large numbers in frontal trenches and positions which are hard to spot. They also completely changed tact on radio talk. The Germans would note how poor Russian radio discipline was but for the build up to the offensive they completely changed barely talking on radios at all. As for scouts and spies. Movie give a pretty bad rap for this. Spies in the soviet command sections were extremely rare to the point there were only a handful of cases where any actual information that was legitimate found it’s way to German (and on many occasions it was completely out of date. I think a letter talking about operation Bagration was sent to OKE which noted an offensive to happen in the area after they captured some soviet penal soldier who deserted their units. However, said letters didn’t make it anywhere or were even acted upon until almost weeks into the actual offensive). As for scouts. Most scouts don’t actually push deep into enemy territory as movies show, most will crawl forward to an observation position, take a few notes on details which they find suspicious and then crawl back to their lines. - The whole infiltrating the enemy lines and stealing documents is more a movie thing or was a very rare exception to what mostly happened (hell the reason most scouts claimed to when captured mass amount of intel during the intial weeks of war is because they would stumble into positions where troops had just recently abandoned and would find documents left in command posts as the officers didn’t tidy them up. Hell it was so frequent a problem that even the Germans thought that the Soviets were leaving false information behind). But yes most scouting operations during that period and in that place would be two-three men crawling out to some ditch or concealed place, pulling up a pair of binoculars and one or two of them noting what they see and the others just writing down. As for how much this information was acted on. It was almost 50/50. Like there were times where a couple scouts would go out and report an entire armour battalion having been station just down the road from their position, only for another pair to discover that those “tanks” were just a handful of shadows, trees, huts and walls. It became common for men to somewhat act on these but not to the point you’d be preparing for something as big as Bagration.
Sabaton just released a new song *The First Soldier* I bet my entire Hetalia Collection that the character the song is about would cause certain Prince to have an stroke, heart-attack and meltdown... Simultaneously. There's a french Yarnhub style documentary and official Sabaton MV. Also once again these are one of my favorite GRT - Sabaton on RU-vid!
Thank you very much for the long awaited video! It turned out just great! The text is now easier to read. Yao's unexpected appearance was a good idea. Looking forward to Wolfpack, Night Witches and Midway! Let the vote decide.
oh yeaaaaahh also i would recommend "price of a mile" or "End of the war to end all wars" gives context to WW1 as a whole and puts a scale for the deaths :P
At Tuka's question of why so much artillery. 1) that's the Soviet's/Russia's 'thing'. A large Soviet/Russian artillery unit has -over 50 guns- (POSTEDIT) almost 40 guns _alone_ and that doesn't count the MLRS systems. 2) Russians consider artillery to be the 'god of war', and funnily enough a tabletop game called Flames of War calls a fully-operable Russian artillery brigade a 'god of war' battery...
I like the idea of making the reactions of all the songs about a same subject one after another. It’s kind of like an arch of the anime xD. If you plan to keep it like this, I would suggest focusing on specific albums. I’m thinking on Carolus Rex or Great War. The former mainly because of the reaction of Piña and Zorzal to an empire being build and then lost, and the latter because of all the great songs that it haves.
"What was Japan doing at that time period" *WELL ABOUT THAT-* also do you think they could react to Sarajevo next? Or maybe simply se historical videos about ww1 and 2 Also Hamiltons reactions were cute and adorable would love to see more of that character
To answer your question Hamilton Japan at this time was at war with America after they attacked the anchored US Navy at Pearl Harbor. And the small tube y'all saw is known as a mortar a small piece of artillery that launches projectiles at steep angles.
Thanks to Tuka..... *I now see the truth of the chubby Tank* Again, amazing work having them react to to such a historic battle and song. Yao cheering for the Soviets to avenge their homeland is right in character with her and it's just awesome to see more Characters get added. I do have to ask......should we be worried about how Knowledgeable Lelei is becoming?
Alright this may be an 180 from what you were thinking, but maybe do Devil Dogs by sabaton next, with it's lines like "Kill, Fight, Die, that's what a soldier should do!" It might actually get a positive reaction out of the prince
When Hammon asked what japan was doing, first thing that popped into my head was Midway...... they find out japan is just a small island nation. It be chaos, and they be glad the gate didn't show in any other country. That is all, keep up the good videos.
Well... given the fact that Hamilton was asking what was Japan doing at this time, I think your next video's got to be 'Midway' for it answers her question.
How about we let them react to Sarajevo when Zorzal is in the reaction reacting to what would happens if assassins attack the leader of their Empire. LOL 😂
Now I realy want to see a video on "The red baron" "No bullets fly" "The night witches" (The animated music video) "Aces in exile" or "Steel comanders"
Great idea! Stalingrad is a great example of how people protect the city from the enemy. Considering the fact that the Empire during the Ginza massacre had to fight the JSDF in the cramped city streets, that is, almost like during the Battle of Stalingrad, then I think this will be of interest to the representatives of the imperial elite.
The awnser to Pina’s question about how big the army was is the Axis army consisted of 13.6 million German Soldiers and the Allies had 8.5 million (if I’m correct) meaning the axis basically doubled in numbers (You can use this comment to awnser Pina’s question in a vid if you like) another awnser is for the “elephants” or tanks which per division had 2,400 at least for the German side and had I think 6 separate kinds of tanks which meant they had like 67,429 tanks (plus territories for some reason) and the Allies had 270,041 (I feel like I’m off) with the Soviet Union having the most BONUS: the most feared tank in WW2 was the tiger tank! With a 60mm hull and the superstructure/sponsons was 80mm on sides of turrets as well with bottom and top armor of the tank being 35mm and in 1944 the top of the turret became 40mm (that’s enough writing for now and yes my research will be off I think but hey it’s close and ik most of these didn’t apply to the question but eh the more you know) and sadly 35,000,000 - 60,000,000 died in this era of war but thankfully it wont happen again… for now (and awesome video I love it and here’s a sub! And enjoy the book of a comment here XD)
Who would win, German Steel -Pride of the Fatherland or Stalinium? Joke aside, Yao appear out of nowhere is just funny to me. And Hamilton, you still no ready mentally to learn what Japanese had done during that war time period. Anyway I can see you improve the subtitle to made more, readable? I don’t know what word to say here. But as always, great video and Keep up the Great Work! 👍
Love it as always!!! I was actually ganna request this one next but you beat me to it! ^^ I guess my next request could be Panzer Battalion, with the music video. My first Sabaton song. God how I miss those days. Pre-covid, pre-invasion, I was just getting out of middle school. Sabaton really saved me at a low point in my life.
You're a mad man, bringing Yao in addition to already SIX characters, how do you even manage?! I'm amazed as always, I don't say it enough, but every single detail, every single blink we see, it's a different screenshot, something you have to manually change all the time, it's astounding. As for the video itself... Itami forgot to teach Pina how to say "Tanks" and "Planes" instead of Elephants and Dragons eh? :') Yao seems to know some basic stuff too, smart dark elf! Keep up the good work sweetheart, and as I always say, watch after your well-being first and foremost! Also, great new look for Shino!
I think you should take a look at shiroyama, to give them a view of some of the proudest and most skilled sword and bow warriors in history were worth vs some of the early guns in the hands of under-trained soldiers
It's nice that the Imperial girls have become accustomed to the wars of the last century, and the brutality doesn't shock them so much. Plus, I'm waiting for songs about Polish cavalry and Arab partisans from WW1. (I know the vote will choose.)
I'd love to see their reactions to the story of the 588th Women's Wing (Night Witches) and Milunka Savic (Lady of the Dark). Maybe they will understand that in our world women can fight no worse than in their world.
"But behind every minefield they crossed, and every pillbox they shattered, there was just another minefield, another pillbox awaiting them in Zhukov's Fortress Kursk."
maybe the next episode should be "the end of the war to end all wars" with zorzal in it. and at the end to tell him than not just 1 empire fell to this war. 4 preety big empires got destroyed i would love to see his reaction to that kind of news
I would like him to understand one important thing. Any great empire is ruined by the ambitions of the rulers. This happened with the Roman Empire, and with Napoleonic France, and with the Third Reich. And yes, you are right about his reaction: if 4 great empires were destroyed due to a global war, then the Saderan Empire is even more so.
- weee, a soccer ball! _(Don't know why, but it was the first thing I focused on XD)_ - What were you searching for, Tuka? Wait, I don't want to know. - Always nice to watch the intro, both from the characters and from Indy. - Ohh, poor Hamilton. - Yaaay, new character!!! _(Although, how was her expecting this? _*_Anon: Her friends told her about this?_*_ Oh, of course...)_ - Ahhhhh, I loved the synchrony of the cannons and the music n.n - Nice your interaction with Yao, giving hints of extra info - hahaha, Tuka liked the chubby tank. I imagined her with a plushie of that tank XDD - Oh, no, Hamilton... Why you had to ask about Japan? D: Gorgeous video! Really liked the interactions and the actual images with the song. Great work, blacklight! :D
@@_blacklight. Haha, thanks! At first I was a bit hesitant about adding too much, as it would be spoiler-ish if someone saw the comments before the video, but... as you like it I try to add more detail on the new reacions n.n Now I'm curious about the characters' reactions when you begin to show them Japan-related videos : P
@@TswordZ Hehe, they'd be pretty shocked.. I also plan to do a reaction on the Imjin War as well! Mainly because of a certain Admiral Yi Sun-Shin.. (my favourite historical figure!) 😄
I'm just throwing it out there, I love how you portray them as still being from the era where battles and war meant glory, forces clashing head on with spear and shield. Our world, war means the soldiers are already dead, their bodies just don't know it yet.
I really appreciate the effort you put into your videos! I've seen others where it's just the same generic phrases or sometimes all the characters just doing the same facial expression in unison.
Damn Sabaton, for me personally, the coolest songs about the war and combat events in the war. And so panzerkampf and the attack of the dead are in the first place for me, well, this is because I am Russian by nationality, although the end of the war to end all war is also in the first place for me.
