I commend you vox, you made this series one of my favorites of all time already and this last part was beautifully done as well. From the deepest part of my being thankyou sir for this it was incredible experience I won't forget 💚
"Hey lads, the inquisition is calling about something we were involved with 10 years back" "Ah who cares" "its about Gav, he's killed a Keeper of Secrets" The entire mess hall goes literally feral in adoration, until the stop and realize why the Inquisition would be calling. The reason it took so long for them to get a reply was because all of the Wolves brawled to see who got to talk about Bob
In the grimdark of the 40th millennium there is only war but even in the grim darkness there is olso light and the light comes from good individuals like Gav and Bob.
The author did indeed state this. I'm glad to be helping to spread the word. I would love to know who the original author was for as far as I know he posted them anonymously
I can write... I would love to try my hand and the continuance of Gav's biographical experiences. No, not that I'd love it, I'd be thoroughly honored... I wonder how one gets in contact with the legal holders of the stories, and gets any continuances approved and canonized...
Gav literally killed a slaneeshi greater demon in a 1v2 avenging one of his best friends. He's the most badass wholesome character I've read about in 40k
That’s why what has to happen is a demon convinces him to peel the inquisitor like a potato then he gets a punishment worse than anything ever seen before
I slightly wish Gav would have mused: “Gav recalled ‘Arry’s metal leg and how it seemed cold when he’d kick a rock. Gav punched a rock and it sounded cold. Gav missed ‘Arry…”
I almost cried for Gav when it looked like he was going to be separated from the guard. Poor buddy would have been so lost. Im so happy the inquisitor took him in.
I was listening to parts 1 through 3 at work and started crying and had to remove myself from the area and go hide in the restroom. I was not expecting to feel so hard for an Ogryn. Poor Gav.
Didn't know there was going to be another part of this series. Seriously this needs to be made in an animation. It would blow that Warhammer+ stuff out of the water!!!
@@AVoxintheVoid Mr vox! hello! I believe you were thinking about doing SCP videos some time ago? I recall we had a brief exchange where I said you should team up with 'The Volgun". Whether this was the case or not (Damn my crappy memory) The volgun posted in his community page on his youtube that he wanted to work with more voice actors. To quote: "2. "You need more voice actors" - This is true. I could set aside a budget every month to hire more voice actors, so this is a possibility. A side note to this one - I do have a quality preference. You need to have a decent quality recording mic and have some kind of experience in VA." ru-vid.comcommunity Seems a good opportunity for you. Hope you are keeping well and thank you for the fantastic content you create! Love the Gav and Bob series! Also, just shared your video of 'I have no mouth and cannot scream' to a bunch of Randoms on reddit.
What gets me the most is Gav's innocence. I grow wet in the eyes at his example. Things are good, like potato skins, Bob, and Tarla, or things are bad. Like Chaos Worshippers. And you've gotta do good and make things good. That's it. Da Emprah wants you to be good. Thank you for the narration so far.
@@AVoxintheVoid Then we both serve the Emperor. And that will be good. Maybe I reconsider it. Maybe I will be Bob. Then we could peal pox walkers heads like potatoes together.
I'm totally up for that when it releases. Unfortunately If it's anything like vermintide you can only have one of each class. Id be happy to play with the community when it releases!
I loved Gav's story it was super well done! But man just how easily Inquisitors can sign people's lives away to become Servitors and stripping away most of their humanity reminds me just how dark the 40k universe can get, and why characters like Gav are a nice break from the doom and gloom, despite Gav going through his own fair share.
which is really stupid, considering how hard it would be to turn a person into a robot instead of just making a regular robot. like, why not just kill them? it's so much easier. and yes, i know that sometimea it's a form of punishment, but other times they want to "keep the person useful". but that's stupid, because it would take much kore effort than ahy possible gain. also, how the fuck does anyone go to a hotel that ahs a grotesque corpse-robot hybrid as its reception clerk?
I’m crying with the beauty of this story. I’m autistic and seldom experience emotion but the story and reading along with the emotive soundtrack has left me with tears running down my face. Thank you for bringing the story to life and touching my soul.
This was great. I love Gav's story. It has a lot of heartache and colored by the grim darkness of the 42nd millennium but he also got good moments with Tarla, Ari and especially Bob. I really like Gav's new comrades even if being part of an Inquisitor's is bound to put him in danger's way there is no other place he would be.
@@AVoxintheVoid that can be very interesting, I would love to try my hand at it but even if I had the literary skill I would be to tempted to give him a happy ending.
I was a Hotshot for 10 years and lost more friends than I cared to even think about. And on sleepless nights feebly reflect what it was like when I was a young teenager and not emotionally flatlined. This series made me physically break down crying. The sheer Simplicity of conviction and drive the Innocence being sundered from a cruel world that just is..wow. Thank you I've always hated saying that because it means so little in this context without action. But I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart Thank You.
I just listened to Gavs story. I've never been particularly interested in Ogryns, before i met Gav and Bob. You brought them to life sir. I pray to the Emprah, more is to come. A like and a subscription, you have earned. Thank you.
The love and humanity that shines through in 40k from time and again is one of the things I love about the franchise. Petition too have Gav canonised as a saint of the imperium
I do warhammer roleplay, on games and in text format. Gav has become an inspiration of sorts, for my own Ogryn characters. This story, and how you portray them, is what I will use to show others how awesome and surprisingly intriguing Ogryns can be. PLEASE keep this up. Easily my favorite series of yours
Looking forward to this upload. I wanted to thank you, and express my gratitude to your content as well. Your readings & production value are top tier. As a visually impaired person I often have to settle for mediocre, or automated readings, so finding your channel has been a delight.
I'm super happy I can bring some joy to your life my friend. Makes all the hard work worthwhile. Thankyou for being part of the channel and I truly hope you enjoy the story when it drops tomorrow night. Vox
That voice you gave Gav during the Removal from Service scene was so good, I almost started crying myself. Gav is one beautiful Ogryn and I'd put him in my army if I could. FOR DA EMPERA!!! FOR BOB!!! o7
Ah, the story is now complete at last. Such a moving tale, great job once again. I like how I can find wholesome, emotionally rich (but also sad and in keeping with the inherent grim darkness of the setting) narrations about factions like Lamenters and ogryns that GW generally ignores, that fans have taken upon themselves to write about. The 40k fan community is so talented and creative, and I love how you and the Amber King are steadily growing in popularity. Never stop - #ForBob
Why does this Ogryn make me cry so much!? I ain't even a crier! Ya got some fantastic story telling, Gav's stories are just so enthralling you're content on this channel is amazing I don't think I've ever gotten this invested in a character before!
I cannot believe this series. It is so unique and illicits such emotion. You deserve so much praise and credit for writing this. It is truly phenominal. It would be incredible to see some miniatures of various moments from each "episode". I would love to see a "scene miniature" of Gav holding Tarla with his arm and the statue laying nearby on the ground. Or Gav and Bob eating some potatoes together. There are so many fantastic moments that could be converted into some amazing miniatures for fans to paint....I will definitely be attempting some form of conversion to make a scene from this. If it turns out well, may I could send a picture of it to you somehow.
Even though I'd love to take the credit for writing this beautiful series it is actually fan fiction from many moons ago. It was originally uploaded to 4chan anonymously. It was stated at the end of the writing that anyone was free to carry on the legacy of Gav and Bob. I am doing just that! Just commissioned the next part and will be narrating it next month! Thankyou for your support though and I'd love to see some miniatures if you ever get round to it!
@@AVoxintheVoid incredible, what a gift to the community. I love it. And the story is great but the voicing makes it really come together and immersive.
Sir, your stories are some of the best I've had the pleasure to hear in my 32 years of life. Fear, sadness, hope. All of these things I have found in your content. Truly a master of your craft.
I cannot lie this make me tear up gav Smith😢 and Bob is the most best story ever how he wants to work for the emperor how remembers all his best friends in battle heretic and Demon and smashing and feeling that something that's evil and all the the grimdark in the 40th millennium gav Smith the most adorable character I will ever adore in every Space Marine even though he's Ogeron
Bob's VA has managed to do some of the best voice acting ive ever heard, and im stacking this up against the bleeders diegest podcast and other high budget professional takes. Goddamn, the VAs got me to cry in every single episode and just absolutely gutted me. The writing married to the voice acting makes this S-tier, I cannot believe this is fan fiction.
I remember when I first found your channel I saved Gav and Bob for last. I was under the impression it'd be some silly story about Orks, I'm glad to have been entirely wrong. It's one of my favorites. The characters are awesome, and the story thought provoking. Thank you for making this video series, it's greatly appreciated. Hope you're doing well, I look forward to more of your stories.
I've found the Gav stories very interesting and well acted. They all had their strong points, though I confess that the first one is the one I will always hold dear as it has fundamentally changed my understanding of the Abhumans in general and of the Ogryn in particular. Thank you, Vox, for your effort in delivering this thoughtful side of the Warhammer 40k universe: a sad world, of horror , terrible loss, unkindness and lack of recognition, but also of camaradery, friendship and respect.
I listened to all three parts of Gav and Bob back to back, and what an emotional rollercoaster it has been. I am the kind of guy to almost never cry, yet during listening to Gav´s adventure I was often very close to shedding a tear for this poor soul and his unfortunate friends. On other times, I found myself chuckling and smiling because of how charming Gav and his way of telling his story is. The funny little remarks, like Gav not being able to count to 30, him forgetting things constantly or how he likes to eat potato peel give the story so much life. I loved how Gav, due to his simplemindedness, has an unshakeable faith in the emperor and is immune to demonic corruption. And at the end, when it was implied that he could be executed just for safety reasons, I felt my stomach drop. Minutes later Iater, I was fist pumping and cheering loudly when I found out he would be inducted into an Inquisitors retinue! Hope none of my neighbours minded ..... I will never forget this story and really hope that Orgryns get added to KT 2.0 soon, so I can paint up a Bone´ead Ogryn for my IG KT and name him Sergeant Gav. Thanks you for this amazing experience!
I remember I found this channel when I was trying to find lore podcasts on 40k. After the first gav and Bob I dug deeper and found these dramatic readings to resonate with me on a level I didn't know was possible. Keep up the good work.
This is so fucking heartbreaking and heartwarming. I wish there were more stories like this in warhammer. It fits perfectly while pulling every heartstring possible.
This is seriously very good writing. It's so good that I've watched nearly all the series so far and have shed tears on every part, God bless the Emperor and your work friend!
This story line is so well done! I was excited to see another gav and bob video. I also cried when I heard the space wolf talk with pride about his dead’s. This hits home for me too. Looking forward to see where this new group ends up with Gav. Hope there is more to come.
If Gav accidentally crossed paths with Ciaphas Cain, Chaos would be defeated and the Emperor would immediately be restored. Also, Malchador would come back to life and Fabius Bile would turn over new leaf and open a shelter for homeless kittens and puppies.
Who knows! Maybe it could be an ongoing series in the future. Maybe if we collectively peel a lot of potatoes in Bob's name we can will it into existence
Thanks for narrating this story, if it weren't for you i would have never heard of it. Thanks for all the experiences and feelings you made me feel. I will never foeget gav, bob, arry and tarla.
Damn.......Vox..... that was an amazing end to that story. I kinda da want a later story as well though I'll take this touching end. I was tearing up. Your delivery was perfect. Thank you so much!
There aren't anymore 'official' stories written but the original author did state that they wanted others to take up the responsibility of writing Gavs adventures...who knows what the future brings!
There is absolutely nothing more wholesome than imagining Gav getting shot into orbit in a ship with all his new small freinds. While they are being pinned to their seat from the g force and gav just looking around and yawning and thinking about his past all wise like.
So I'm listening to this with my head phones on. Seconds into the Inquisition talking to the recanting of the Space Wolf I burst into tears, I didn't re-listen to parts 1 and 2 and wasn't prepared. I was driving and a car load of kids next to me saw me start crying and were looking at each other and pointing before I realized. Funny little story there. But just such great story telling. I could totally see this as a great short story to send someone to get introduced to the lore. As always, you did an awesome job bringing these characters to life.
Third strike of perfection! And what an exciting turn of events! You do understand sir, that you need to make this a long runner now. Sure am excited to hear of the adventures of Gav and Inquisitor! Again, your composure and the damn perfect background music makes for something unique. I had a lump in my throat and a tear on the way, recollecting part I and II, even though this was more “positive”. You are a natural for sure. Very well done!
Many thanks Robert. I'm glad this concluding part had a positive resonation. It definitely wasn't as emotional as the first two parts and I love the idea of leaving Gav on a positive note. Who knows though, maybe the story will continue at some point
I normally don't type or voice my opinions but this story is legitimately a very beautiful and well written one that has captivated not only my attention but my heart. Good job
I don't know if it is the music, the story, or your voice, but I always get goosebums when I listen to your narrations. Hopefully there will be more from Gav in the future.
Hey Vox! Hope you're doing well! Been busy with life (or life's been busy with me, howeve you'd like to see it) Thank you for this! It's truly amazing! The work you do is incredible and I can't praise you enough for all the great effort you put into these!
My god. I had listened to the first two parts of this before, now I listened to them once again, as well as this third part. The tragedy of Tarla tore my heart asunder, but that is what grimdark is all about. A tiny glimmer of fleeting hope and kindness amongst all that bleak darkness, even if that spark of light is so feeble and distant to the point of it not being reachable at all. Thanks Vox for invoking all this emotion in me, you bastard, haha. Much love to you and please do more of this kind of narrative.
Your job is just amazing, you always make me cry with your Gav and Bob stories , I hope in the future here more of Gav Adventures, Thanks for all you had work
Thank you! I'vi e been hoping for a continuation of Gav's story. It is by far one of the most compelling stories I've heard. And to see his life continue in such an unexpected way had me at the edge of my seat the whole time! Well done and keep it up! 🥰
