I love the USD Carbon. It's my favorite boot. But then I tried the Gawds FM3, and I started thinking it was pretty great. So today I did a head to head comparison to see which one was best for me.

The down ledge looks so fun! I would just raise the bottom about 8" so it isn't as steep.

Carbons for sure. The frees are great, but the tongue is usually pretty uncomfortable, particularly on the new model. The flex is great for learning grinds, but you can straight leg royal in them so style kinda takes a hit. I couldn't really skate transitions with them since they lack support that the carbons give, while still having a forgiving cuff after broken in.

if im not wrong the usd carbon free have less padding than the gawds.. great review!

Love how your back foot just drags so low on the miz 🔥👌. Also, do you think the padding difference is just that or if some of it is from less break-in in the FM3s?

I don't think the skin on either would last 5mins on my local ledges. 😂

your fm3 look soo fresh with those white sole plates, do you think the release of the Franken will get the plates back in stores? anything other than a roces sole plate is so hard to get hold of here in the UK. As always love the content, keep grinding and stay safe

That ledge on the side of the ramp maybe you could lift the base about a foot looks a little fast for the length

Where I live you can only get the Gawds complete and the Carbons come boot only. The Gawds cost just under £30 more than the carbons!! Then again pricing has all gone mad, as now the pro Aeons cost more than Carbons. 🤯 Thanks for the comparison, as someone who loves the carbons it's interesting to hear your thoughts between the two skates.

What kind of frames do you run on your carbons? And do you think I can put the kizer trimax on them?

Had some gawds a while ago... And they were "flexed out" after a couple months... Hated that and sold them😅 it's not a bad skate, but the flex I gained was just too much...

I got my first carbon boots, some speed skates(Rollerblade Endurace Elites), and I can't keep them from hurting my entire spine...even with minimal jumping. I even added an extra foot liner and it is still too rigid. I have my Rollerblade Maxxum Edge 125mm for the same distance and speed and the shock absorber keeps my back from hurting at all. So I am actually very disappointed with carbon and I will probably only stick with plastic boots from here on out. ✌
@brianpaulbutler1984
@brianpaulbutler1984 2 года назад
@T53aod2 St they aren't ufs. I think I just got used to having a shock absorber and carbon is too stiff. I might try better insoles...but what's the point if I can go further, faster, and more versatile with my Maxxum 125mm than speed skates and still go to work after. I skate 30 miles in the maxxum down bike paths, through urban setting, through 2 skate parks (I can only makio grind on the side of the plastic boot) and even on ledges, do jumps, etc...I will have a hard time finding a better skate honestly.

Yeah, I also wonder about the breaking in of the Gawds vs. Carbons. You have skated the Carbons a lot more than the Gawds..
@BacktoBlading
@BacktoBlading 2 года назад
I gotta assume though after skating the Gawds for a few months, twice a week, how much more are they going to break in? Shouldn’t they be broken in by then?

I skated them for a few months already. If they aren’t broken in yet, they’re taking too long to break in
