My version of Filipino crispy deep-fried fritters made with shredded calabaza, shrimp, and various vegetables like onion, celery, and cabbage. Best served with my special vinegar-based dipping sauce. This is perfect for breakfast, snacks or appetizer. Share and enjoy!
INGREDIENTS :
- 5 cups calabaza, shredded
- 1 large size onion, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 2 cups cabbage, sliced
- ground black pepper to taste
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes ( or you can use salt to taste )
- cornstarch or corn flour
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour ( for the batter )
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup water
- 14 pieces prawns, cleaned and removed the rostrum
FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE:
- 1 small size onion, peeled and diced
- cucumber, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 pieces red chilli peppers
