@@blakekeith4823 that's such bullshit. you've never lived a day in my life if you can say that. do you see the stares i get just for existing and the whispers i see people giving each other when i speak? do you know the social ostracization of not being able to cleanly fit into the girl/boy dynamic, even though I am a boy, because my friends are girls and I'm attracted to guys so I always have to glide the middle line. Has anyone ever waked up to your group of friends and said "hey girls... and you." Have you felt the pressure to never have a crush on anyone so you don't get looked at like a freak or a creep. Have you felt the need to go along with harmful and offensive jokes just so you can fit in socially, even though it is a constant fight against time until you don't fit in anymore because you never did fit in in the first place. I feel like a puzzle piece that doesn't fit the puzzle. Why the fuck would I have chosen this. It's so difficult to go through high school like this. Anyways, how do you think homosexuality originated? It's not like someone just made it up and decided to chose to be like that? If you can chose to be gay, you should try it for a week to prove that.

I'm gay, and I honestly think that choice is an acceptable word, just when it's used in the right context. I don't believe that you can choose to be gay, but I do think that it's your own choice to live free. Yes, I know that some use it in the sense that "homosexuality is a choice", and I truly feel piteous towards those that think this. They've evidently been poorly educated, as a God wouldn't create something he'd smite later; furthermore, we aren't always looking to get into a straight person's pants. We are allowed to think someone is attractive, as I'm sure many heterosexual people do. However, many gay individuals live in fear of society's seeming judgement of those who are afraid either for us or of us. So, knowing that I'll probably drown in hate-fire, I'll just finish by saying this: Being gay isn't a choice, being able to live as a free, gay person is.

Would you consider doing a word association using the word "Bisexual"? And perhaps as opposed to the normal "men" and "women" respond, you could do a "gay person" and "straight person" respond. I say gay as opposed to LGBT in general because many gay men and lesbians (not all, by any means) seem to have a prejudice against bisexual people and it would be cool to hear how gay people specifically would respond to it. As a bisexual person myself, I think that would be really interesting to see.

***** I really don't understand why certain gays, lesbians, transgenders, gender-fluids, etc., seem to enjoy dividing our *LBTQ+* community. Like really, why/how is it so wrong to like BOTH genders? That moment you finally embrace yourself internally with no self denial is possibly the biggest feeling of relief I've ever experienced, because you know from then on out theres nothing you can do to alter your reality, and is the moment you realise all you can do from then on out is fight for your right to coexist with the people around you. Im so so grateful every day to be born where I have been in the world, or I cant even begin to wonder what would lay ahead for me after this point of full self acceptance. I'd probably still be hating myself and thinking I'm dirty and wrong to this day

1. Being gay is not a choice 2. Gender identity and sexual orientation are not the same thing 3. The straight privilege has to stop defining things: Don't automatically associate being gay with who someone sleeps with. I'm hetero but I'm not automatically defined by who I sleep with. You can be gay and be a virgin. Your lifestyle is what you do, what you identify as is WHO YOU ARE.

It's not a choice. It's genetic. And all though many probably have the genetic possibility to be gay, they all arn't. Why? Scientists believe it's due to what is called epigenetics which simply is which genes that are active or inactive during a period in your life. For example, scientists have seen that people who hadn't worked out for a long time, when they did work out over 4000 genes switched on and off.

They look back on the research then: a young, geneticist who committed that study. I want to talk to him. I want to try to talk some sense to him, tell him the way things are. But I can't. That study is long gone, and these findings are all that's left. I got to live with that. Choice? It's just a bullshit word. So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. ***** They did a study in Australia just a couple of years ago where they followed and studied the upbrining of a couple of hundred kids if I remember correctly. They where looking for the reason why some people turn into criminals and psychopaths. What they did is that they followed a certain gene or collection of genes which they were sure was the cause. In the case of a child who didn't have these genes it didn't matter how their upbrining was. However the ones that did have those genes, their upbrining was turned out to be crucial. If the child was abused or treated very badly he or she in most cased became a criminal. Perhaps not full scaled psychopath but they certainly showed some symptoms. But if the child had a well upbrining, had a "normal" childhood and parents whom treated he/she well then they turned up "normal". Sorry if my english isn't the best, it's my second language. Also, I would really recommend that you search and read this study because it's very interesting

Morgan Freeman i would think of it as lack (or excess for lesbians) of testosterone that the baby is exposed too in the womb. Since a study shows that people who are gay (or transgender ) are wired differently then straight (and cisgender) people this could be for the masculinization or feministion of the brain during its early stages .

But the real question is, "Why does it matter if a person's sexuality is genetic or not?" Regardless if it's genes or environment (or *gasp* both), I should be allowed to date/fuck/marry who I want as long as it's consensual. I am a follower of christ, to be more specific I am catholic. I do not see anything wrong with gay people wanting to marry. People bring the bible into every discussion when it come to gay marriage, yet only a a small small percent of those people actually live their lives as specified by the bible. Don't point out someone else "sin" when you yourself are sinning daily. BTW being gay is not a sin ( personal opinion)

Im gay and this touched my heart....look being gay isn't a choice, I didn't even know I was interested in guys until I hit the 8th grade, then the love of my life came to me, my bf is so fucking amazing and he is gonna be my husband soon enough and when we watched this....I just held him and smiled at words like happy, love is love, equality, this video warmed my heart more then I can actually begin to express right now
