That's ok if it's March, I can listen to this song by Dan all year long! Nothing will top this version of O Holy Night by Dan Vasc!

Thank you for your continued support and response on this cover by Dan and his guitarist Victor. I heard the song at the same time before Christmas and thought "shit" it won't work with your 1 million subscribers. Believe me, I had to laugh at myself and after the initial shock it became one of my favorite songs.

Dan hit this out of the park. I listen to it several times a day.

Personally, I think that if Dan didn't do songs that show he can sing "normally" then people would say he's a "one trick pony". Also, the build up he likes to do just adds a certain 'flavor' to the piece. Usually with a "metal version" of a song, it's all metal the whole way through, which can potentially ruin a piece of music if not done correctly. I really think the appeal to many of Dan's fans, especially those who were not too keen on metal in the first place, is the way Dan doesn't overdo things, and adds variety; it's an appealing way to introduce many a non-metalhead to the wonderful world of metal.

Thanks for continuing this great Dan exploration. My favorite of his Christmas songs is still Angels We Have Heard on High, in five languages and with a background chorus of Dans, but this is great, especially at the end when his passion and gorgeous voice really kick in. Dan never leaves anything on the table, does he? And of course Victor is fantastic as always. I’m glad Dan is making you feel better!

The way Dan sang the parts was according to the lyrics. The first of the lyrics were more peaceful, then the "all within us" was sang with the shaking and growl due to the sin within us. Then the triumphant ending with our Lord Jesus Christ. Dan's a Christian who isn't afraid to sing his way about God and Jesus. And to bring the metal into it, in the relevant places. I love all of the song!! ❤❤

Funny you. The second, metal part would never have had the impact that it did without the quiet build-up from a beautiful melodic voice. This is my favourite version of this hymn - by far!

I find this one uplifting to play when ever I'm down.. I was on line when this dropped and was blown away by it straight away..This Christmas, putting speakers out front, playing this, Adeste Fideles. and Angels we have heard at top volume, that should make Christmas better for everyone

Dan did warn us before this song dropped that it would "melt our faces". Lol. He added enough metal to make it different & put emphasis on certain phrases while retaining the essence and reverence of the original. Loved it from the minute I heard it, which was within a couple of hours after it dropped. If you want another Christmas song that Dan did a metal version of, try his rendition of Adeste Fidelis (Latin version of the hymn "O Come All Ye Faithful"). It will definitely fire you up...especially that ending.

Right before Dan dropped that video he teased us by saying his new Christmas song would “melt our faces off”. He wasn’t kidding! Hail VascNation ❤

Dan LOVES to surprise people...like with that change back to the norm. With this one, you should have "heard" some of the people who (after he had already done "The Number of the Beast" for Halloween) went a bit berserk, thinking (again...sigh) THAT Dan had "given his soul to the devil." I spent the first three days of November defending Iron Maiden/Bruce Dickinson and Dan about THAT choice, which does NOT mean what those people THOUGHT it means. Also, most of those people didn't know that Dan had ALREADY covered Iron's "Two Minutes to Midnight," which is interesting, because that's basically what time "The Number of the Beast" ended up being posted...there's a story about it being posted so late, but it really worked out perfectly, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway...with THIS one, a goodly number of people decided that THIS time, Dan had TRULY sold his heart to the devil, because (obviously--grin) he let a demon in, when he did that ROAR! Again, it took another three days or so before those of us who did NOT feel that way, were able to explain what he was REALLY doing with that earth-shaking roar, and then why he sang the REST of the song the way that he did, which was SO FABULOUSLY WONDERFUL! I don't think anyone still feels the way they were at first (truly concerned for Dan, or even scared of him at that point in time). At any rate, I hope you will now take a look at his older Christmas offerings, plus his REALLY FUN "Hallelujah Chorus" from before he got into his new black (garage) studio and the great lighting he uses these days. He started with a SINGLE light in that studio, and now has two of them. By the way, he does NOT have a cameraman. He sets the camera to do certain things, beforehand. The Hallelujah Chorus is stupendous, because Dan sings ALL the parts. It's a ton of FUN, as well. Thanks again, for your really great reactions. See you in the next round. 😀
