This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV1 Gundam MKIV on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 600 cost general with good mobility, long melee reach, access to LV2 Power Accelerator, excellent stagger ability, very high damage along with the ability to swap between LV1 Stealth and LV1 Fake Beacon at will. Its main two weaknesses would be that it has low HP despite being quite large, it also lacks Maneuver Armor despite being big. When this suit first came out I was a little disappointed, its basically a general version of the Gundam Mk-V but it carries some of the same weaknesses like low HP, on top of lacking Maneuver Armor for some reason. I thought that it would be buffed soon after release but here we are about a year after with no buff in sight. I still think that it is fun though. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary weapon is a beam rifle with 2350 power, 6 ammo, 5 seconds cooldown, 15 seconds reload, 0.77 seconds swap time, 350m range and 10% stagger value. It has low stagger value but the cooldown and damage are both pretty good. It is easy to start combos with this rifle.
Its primary melee weapon is a hyper beam saber with 2750 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 60% combo modifier and 140% downswing modifier. This has excellent range and damage but the downswing is a little bit slow. It can still be confirmed fine off stuns though.
Its first sub weapon is an INCOM beam cannon with 1000x3 power, 50%x3 heat, 300m range, 15 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time and 35%x3 stagger value. This is mediocre on its own since every shot needs to connect in order to stagger, but it pairs excellently with your beam cannon to more easily confirm stuns.
Its second sub weapon is a beam cannon with 2000 (2200x2) power, 65% (45%x2) heat, 350m range, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 17 seconds overheat time, 0.77 seconds swap time, 2 seconds focus time and 65% (50%x2) stagger value. This has good damage and stagger accumulation but needs to charge to instant stagger. It also suffers from needing to stop to fire, which can make it awkward to use. It is still good for when you need two stuns, so it can be great when used with your beam rifle.
Its third sub weapon is a head sensor unit with 100% heat, 300m range and 30 seconds overheat time. This sends out an AoE ping that jams the enemies radar similar to what EWAC Jegan can do, but it does not mark the enemy. This seems poor at first but you can use it to more easily slip behind the enemy with Fake Beacon. Approach with Stealth, jam their radar and then activate Fake Beacon. They are much less likely to recognize you as an imposter this way.
The LV1 Gundam MKIV has 17500 HP, 16 ballistic resist, 28 beam resist and 22 melee resist. Considering it is similar in size to the Gundam MKV and Doven Wolf, this is pretty awful durability. It has LV1 Emergency Evasion but lacks Maneuver Armor, despite its large size.
It also has 135 (138 including ground affinity) hover speed, 220 boost speed, 65 thrust and 69 (75 including ground affinity) turning speed. This is pretty nice mobility for 600 cost but it is nothing really special either. It has LV2 Forced Injector and Flight Control as is standard.
The MKIV benefits from having a whole range of extra skills though. It has access to the rare skills LV1 Marker and LV1 Observational Data Link, but it also has a unique skill called LV1 Special Infiltration Device. This lets you toggle the suit between having LV1 Stealth or LV1 Fake Beacon active by pressing the touchpad. Fake Beacon isn't all that useful, but Stealth can be great for ambushing enemies from behind. Like the MKV, it also has access to LV2 Power Accelerator which allows it to boost away from melee clashes much sooner than other suits can.
In conclusion, I feel that the Gundam Mk-IV isn't that good. I think that its actual weapons loadout is really nice and simple to use, it has great melee reach, two instant staggers, decent stagger accumulation and good damage overall. I feel that it falls apart when you look at the skills and stats though. Only 17500 HP and no Maneuver Armor for a suit like this can be tough, it is easy to get stunlocked because you are so big, and you will get destroyed quickly thanks to the low HP. You can get around this to some extent by making sure to always ambush enemies from behind stealth if possible, but this isn't always viable for a number of reasons. I don't think that it would need a massive buff or anything. I think that if it got +1500 HP, +5 thrust and LV1 Maneuver Armor then it could become pretty strong. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!
