Here are some of my thoughts for a possible Gundam Battle Operation 3 game. Should that ever happen.

Actual objective-based matches would be nice, too, instead of pure ungabunga big number wins.

The real kicker for a hypothetical GBO3 would be budget. A lot of the problems in GBO2 are legacy problems carried over from GBO due to budget constraints. Stuff like old models, mechanics and P2P servers. All this is to say that implementing either/or forge world esque missions and dedicated servers would be way outside of their budget. Even one of those those may be way too much still.

All good ideas for a hypothetical GBO3! To add to the point of giving pilots more to do, and removing stealth - Maybe pilots can use capture points for more than just air support? Like having the hover tank present at the point, and it could be used to apply a temporary enemy team reveal? Aside from dedicated servers, what I'd really like to see is them squishing or simplifying the cost system. While it hasn't been released yet on PC, knowing I'll almost never get to use the Bugu because there's never 250 lobbies is so annoying, why do we even have 100 cost units anyway? Simplifying it could like: "Low Cost" (what you'd see from 100 to 350), "Medium Cost" (400-550), "High Cost" (600-Low End 700), and "Extreme Cost" (High End 700-800). They probably wouldn't do it though, because the consolidation would mean the removal of different suit levels, and inundating us with different levels of suits and weapons is an intentional "gacha-ism" but I'd still like it.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. Regarding the watching other people's MS launches thing, it reminded me how cool it was to watch ships taking off and landing in Star Citizen before they took away Port Orison

Maybe a more improved MS customization would be nice, if they can't have each parts be colored separately then at least make it so that we can put decals anywhere on the suit

#1 Servers. #2 Some kind of mid-match autobalancer that knows when it's impossible to have a comeback. An Auto-win for the winning team but unlimited boost for the losing team. Idk. #3 And an overall lighter ban system. Kicks are fine. 5 minute bans are okay. But a full day ban should be the worst.

I made a whole Reddit post complaining about bc it’s fucking stupid that I accidentally disconnected and have to wait 3-5 days to try and fix it. I’ve never disconnected intentionally in gbo2 most of them are due to wifi issues or accidental(example being I went to pay attention to my father and I left it on matchmaking and since I thought I knew my wifi which almost 25/100% of the time finds matches, it found one and it kicked me out due to not reading up, yes I do blame myself on this but still the ban is literally kills your mood completely)

If they make GBO3 I don't know if leveled suits should stay the same. I kinda want a system where you can keep upgrading a suit and by doing that it can keep up with higher costs. (I just want to use the same suits in higher costs)

I agree with most of these, and I'll throw in my own thoughts. The best case scenario would be giving this game a full team, pricing it as a full game and taking away the F2P elements entirely, but unfortunately I don't see that happening due to budget reasons (as well as F2P being more profitable) While you make an excellent point on heavy melees, I'd also like to point out a separate point of imbalance, where heavy melee damage can pierce shields while the heavy support cannons can't. I think it should be reworked so one or the other apply to both. I would also (in an ideal world) like for BB to get rid of the role system, since it pigeonholes certain suits into acting in a way that's inconsistent with how they're "supposed" to work, but I would settle for a rework on that front (reclassifying certain suits, standardizing certain skills at certain costs, role queue, etc.) Another thing I'd do is rework suit customization. For example, take the Zaku 2. Instead of having a bunch of different variants all with their own skills, weapons, and stats, you can have a single variant that has a given number of customization points (CP for short). You can set a certain cost and spend CP relative to the cost on adding certain weapons, subweapons, skills, or increasing stats to your preference. The higher the suit's native cost, the fewer CP it gets in relation to lower cost suits. Obviously certain skills would be worth more CP than others under this system. Some of the existing parts like the psychoframe and that one part that increases melee damage while lowering ranged damage and health (I forgot the name, it's been a while since I played last) could be reworked as new skills in this system. Probably the biggest change I'd make is how new releases are scheduled. I'd release new suits in batches with longer periods of time between releases as opposed to the weekly release schedule it has now. (example off the top of my head: they drop every suit from AoZ and let that sit for a few months while they prepare all of Moon Gundam) This way, the devs can watch the sandbox more closely and prioritize balancing the game more with less pronounced power creep (Grandpa's on life support with that Hyper Hammer, istg)

More/better PvE options would be cool. Or possibly bots mixed in with players on bigger maps, even if only as objective defenders.

If GBO3 does become a thing, they should allow the ability to link both your GBO2 & GBO3 accounts, similarly to how they did with Code Fairy. If they don't, they damn well better give us hefty compensation. But my question is, what will they do for new mobile suits? They clearly have no problem using manga sources for newer units, but theyll eventually run out of material. And while i like the idea of introducing AU MS, itll definitely create many balancing issues and be a thorn in the side for UC purists. One more thing referring the GBO2, ADD SOME NEW SPACE MAPS, theyve had more than enough opportunities to add the Thunderbolt Sector as a map. Or maybe add a super gimmicky map that take place in a colony, but as the battle goes on, the colony takes more damage and eventually the player will have to escape the colony to avoid being destroyed. Of course this only be good for units that can sortie for both Ground and Space.

The first idea is soild. The 2nd might be disappointing, for they won't be able to simply import all the GBO2 models into a new engine. They would have to reassign every texture/color map and redo all the bone maps. It might be a while before we get new suits. But then again, they could just do things out of order and give us new stuff right away. As for the 3rd. Maps. Ugh, honestly, I have no clue why they never added more casual maps or made any map changes/modifications.

To fix the camera issues. maybe they could set it above the mobile suits. like in sdgo. The camera in that game was fine. heavy melees need a numbered cool down. I wouldn't say overheat the thrusters. but a long cool down thats about 2 minutes just like the support versions.

Replying to myself to continue on. I want a better party system. duo teams (you and a friend) need to be able to match with singles. That's not enough to make games miserable. The entire group sortie is broken and needs a rework. Quick match should be just that. quick. no parameters of matchmaking. you should be able to play with anyone. For the true casual experience. If you want people your rank then play rated match. Au's I love UC but there are a few AU units i think would fit really well in the game. notably the Man rodi from IBO or the gouf ignited from seed Destiny. Many more these are just two examples. going back to groups. An actual party system. no longer should I need to re invite my buds for every single match.

Give Steam players GBO single player mode like Code Fairy if BB don't ever want to improve their game connection.

I think heavy melees are fine. Just fix the tackle counter system so you don't take 50% of your health when you stop them. I mean with the sword glowing its very obvious the heavy attack is coming. And while i can see it with the ones on stealth suits, many melee suits still can nuke your health bar if they catch you off guard without heavy attacks. As for comparing to the long charge meme beams, i disagree since one you can fire them off at long range, they do about half health+, often pierce and due to the range and ability to crouch often can be done without being seen. Furthermore they heavy stagger so if the enemy team is nearby that is more damage for longer than a down will offer as you are exposed to chain stunning and a normal downswing situation afterwards. If meme beams didn't take so long to recharge basically every time the team fighting winds down you'll see the support charging to basically instantly kill the unit that comes back next with little risk. Heavy attacks are far harder to use and if your opponent sees you unless they tackle way early and miss or have no support from allies you will get the attack off. While heavy attacks are good when your team is already mopping the floor without you, so you just charge up and finish people off, otherwise its rarely gonna be better than the standard fare.

@@Mobilesuitk9 i think its more the type system dynamic, and just how slower shooters work. Og halo plays king of the hill and gbo2 does well with that. In most king of the hill set ups you get someone doing overwatch while the rest of the team does the bulk of the work. Which the support does in gbo2 generally. However because of that to balance supports they gutted their defensive tools. Getting to them means breaking through their team first. As such raids the type designed to counter them gets overtunned to be up the task of needing to be in or out fast and nuke the support. However due to how the game works raids can often just cook everyone. Damage nerf matters little when you got so much, good chain stuns, manuver armor, and great melee. Personally the problem is the typing system's damage buffs and nerfs. As a gen often i have to harrass the support some to get them off me or my team when the raid isn't doing so, and that shoot out is a losing one especially if i'm not set up to run them down and am a melee gen. Taking peak shots at the support as a gen isn't the best thing especially if your team isn't doing work because of it. I'd say remove the damage bonuses, and rebalance damage across the board. But when it comes to role based arena shooters i'm not very keen on it. Gbo2 is all i got. The rest often are objective based, closest is paladins but the combat system is very different and the balancing factor for low damage chars is CC or excessive bulk. Gbo2's system wouldn't work with that because a good cc suit just makes the other player never play the game, ala perfect gundam, and bulk fails because getting hit at all is bad because stuns. (That said doven wolf is a suit that exists and sucks at both. Its tanky stun wise and has good damage but has terrible bulk and thus you go even at best when holding ground and firing.) So idk maybe look to other role based arena shooters without objectives or, add them to gbo2.

They purposely create 6 online gundam for the span of 10-20 year, but cant even compete with World_of_Warships, which aim more majority player and do a lot good collab with other IP regardless they are more "realistic" gameplay. (They are in their 10 year, and still kinda strong, because they are majority ) If u want to make the game better, Bandai had to really step up like Star Wars Lootbox game, or add other aspect of battle Like mix of world of warships with gundam (How it would look like, it would like Warzone Godzilla vs King Kong) Like u give people choice to play gundam or army. so it capture more player, or u force them rng matchmaking and play 1 gundam or 1 warship in 1 big map. Oh forgot only EA game and COD, korean developer, Western developer can merge this kind of huge game to one game...so they need to outsource. Unless Japanese willing to maintain 10 year game with low playerbase, else no choice. This is a game of minority and war kind of battle simulator, Might as well as just make Kamen Rider of Gundam costume on kamen rider. so u can promote gundam and kamen rider in future (Fortnite, overwatch kind of game Collab). You know why, because 90% of people just play hero game than niche mecha hero. 1) Realistic war: COD, EA Games steal 90% of player 2) Cartoon Heroes based War: Marvel Rival, overwatch steal 90% of player

Give us dedicated servers, cause as old as this game is now their is no excuse as yo why they cant done it, now if this game wasnt made by bandai namco then i could understand why not. Id rather pay for my gave and have a server then it be free to play and have lag out the butt most of the time (im console player and i still see at least one or 2 matches out of ever 2 houe set where someone is using instant transmission or something lol) Put 4* at the highest cost at the game currently or bump them up if the cost goes higher, that way the whale players can duke it out with themselves and us unlicky players dont have to deal with them as much as ive had my butt handed to me more times then i can count by 4* suits in 600 and 650 then i have by other fellow 3* suits in the same cost range As for stealth, as much as i love it. I also hate it as well and i feel that smoke bombs (for temp stealth) or if the suit in under water should really be the only time that stealth should work unless you stop moving after a few seconds and im not just saying that because i love support suits more then raids or generals >.> As for everything else you bought up, i can totally agree with you would make this game better but to be honest i would love to see a next phase 2 before GBO3 since most console players want GBO to stay U.C. and it was PC players that wanted it to expand past UC. Give us next phase 2 so we can have all the gundams from all universes fighting each other. I dont really like the way maxi boost is handled, it more arcade (as thats how it started) then console so id rather have a next phase 2 the another maxi boost game to fill in that love for all things gundam team base games

I agree with everything you said. I believe the pvp in this is better than Armored Core, I also think it still looks better than Mecha Break. They have a gem whether they realize it or not. They just have to see it and put more money into it so it can truly stand in the light it deserves to be in. The only thing I would like them to add is a cockpit view. Also give every mobile suit with a shield the ability to manually block. Other than the things you mentioned those are the add ons I'd like to see.

I feel like Bandai should've given B.B. Studios more money for GBO2 instead of wasting it on Evolution which they abandoned after just a year. Then there's also the Gundam Metaverse that no one ever asked for lol

​@@Mobilesuitk9 Gundam Evolution is to show them, they either can only stick to their old grass root fan of GBO2, or SD Gundam Online. Else they dont really had any chance in generic gameplay. Maybe only if them promote more 50 year for advertisement and launch fortnite skin or Naraka Bladepoint x Kunio Okawara - Official Crossover (which technically is gundam design) Any person who now an adult can reflect and know, gundam is just a kid thing, any adult stuff is more fun than just "Looking cool and fight cool", only Mecha dont bring much meaning to most people, Need too much investment, but it worth every penny, because it might increase sale. Outsource or mix with realisitic war game dont need a lot of investment, but but only if other people think u worth something to sharing the profit back to Gundam by using Gundam in their game. They only had 3 choice: 1) Reward generously than stringy and create your own metaverse like fortnite, pokemon home. u product need to be priced like free(so free like u buy gunpla = free in game item and ur gundam metaverse game dont shutdown within 15-20 year). Like world of warship. It don't hurt bandai, because why? they can release nu gundam version 2030 again and make it stronger...dont need to shutdown old game to make life of new game. This category of game would live 50 year and their data can be carry over. Like recent COD too 2) Outsource to EA game. See how good they create their Star Wars lootbox game, i would play it for 10 year like World of Warships. 3) Mix with other war game / franchise it. To increase famous of the franchise. Ready Player one movie got gundam right. Allow gundam gameplay as small faction like 30% of total gameplay. Other gameplay is back to "war+gunfight" which always win ,if your game engine, politic, community is right (Same problem they need to split region because japanese cant withstand bad behavior ppl from free world)
