I suggest anyone planning on using this kit take more measurements than the kit tells you to. . The instructions were followed, but the frame turned out to be too narrow to fit back under the car. You need to work off an inside measurement of gram also. The frame sits up into the floorboard on the gbody.. the frame in this video also did not expand back the way they said it would in the instructions which made the frame Narrower , which caused it not to fit.this frame had an issue with the body mount under the middle of door. The extra bracing was put in to help support frame notch .
Thanks for the video on the Hellwig G Body FX frame kit installation. I have the same kit but I am installing it on a 1986 El Camino which is 9" longer. They don't make one for the Elco, only the Monte. Do you happen to have any more video on the finished frame? Why did you add the other bracing and where did you purchase the other bracing? Are you sure the pipe you added in the back will clear the body?
I have a update video coming soon, its a decent kit but, when trying to put the body back onto the frame we ran into a problem, The thicker parts of the kit ended up hitting the body and in return, we could not sit the body on flat as it is supposed to be so, we have to do more cutting to body and frame kit. Turned into a real pain. We'll show all the work we had to do to fit the body in the next video, believe me, it's nothing we did wrong, there are some flaws in this kit.....big flaws! google gbody frame braces, I don't remember what kit we used? No issuses with the braces at all.
@@daredevil7442AUTOMOTIVE I am getting ready to pull the body off the frame to weld in the Hellwig kit. I have not seen any one put this specific kit on a frame until you guys. I look forward to looking at your issues you mentioned and how to fix or avoid the clearance issues.
