Great fun! The featured cleaner is the Model C-2, which debuted in 1954 along with the flip-over rug & floor attachment. The Swivel-Top line began with the Model AVC-815 in 1952 and ended with the Model C-14 in 1972 when G-E sold its vacuum cleaner division to the Premier Electric Company in Cleveland, OH. Premier continued making the Swivel-Tops until the mid-1980s, which proved that consumers liked its design and performance. There were at least two other versions of the G-E Swivel-Top: a premium one with the power head (C100s models) and an economical one called the lowboy (C60s models), because it had a single-stage motor
Uh Oh! They showed a cigarette box and cigarettes. That would be outlawed these days! Looks like a great idea though for a vacuum cleaner. I still use my Eureka canister for cleaning. Nothing to get clogged up.
