Yes....These machines have exceeded expectations in everyway. I have the Olympia and Silverado and they run so smooth. They dont make machines like this anymore.
I live in Queens NY and I just drove by and I saw an ELECTROLUX OLYMPIA in The garbage, Well, I picked her up and She is completely clean and in working order! Just need a few attachments and I will start very soon! its is Jan 2, 2019!!! Much better than my Sears Shop vac!
These are the best vacuums! I currently have the Silverado I bought off eBay a number of years ago and it still works perfect. Truly the best vacuum cleaner out there
@@MICHGO1 Yeah that's weird. I wonder why they stopped making vacuums. Kinda pointless to keep using the Electrolux name if they're not going to make vacuums anymore
I have a blue Model 1205 that was manufactured in 1972 that I use several times a week. It's nearly 50 years old and still works perfectly...and I have all its original attachments (including the power nozzle) except for the braided hose which lost its air-tightness years ago. The brush roll on the power nozzle wore down a bit, so I ordered a new one for about $10 on eBay and replaced it myself. The cord winder stopped working, so I found another one for $25 and made the swap. Dust bags are still cheap and easy to find. I love the darned thing because it JUST WON'T DIE!!!
They actually called that "teal" and if you have a 1972 it's probably the model B with the "jade green" end cap. 600 watt motor and the teal-matching power nozzle was the PN-1 model. I remember banging that thing around like it was a rubber-insulated battering ram.
Electrolux Corporation's bronze-colored Olympia One tank vacuum-in successive models 1401, 1401-B, & 1505-was manufactured from 1979-82 with the power nozzle model PN-4 & later PN-4A. The silver-colored Silverado Deluxe tank vacuum model 1505 with the power nozzle model PN-4A or PN5 succeeded it from 1982-84. Mr. McKee was spot on with his descriptions.
I have a model 1205, and it’s the runt of my collection, as I collect only Kirby vacuums. My 1205 was given to me by a friend who moved to Missouri a few days ago, so I use it very little as it reminds me of him.
i was a Electrolux salesman for a few years back in the 90s... badass machines, i must have sold a hundred of them at least , I still have the Epic 6500 and the carpet shampooer myself. .. easy to sell once you got it into someone's house. Good product, too bad they ran the company into the ground.
This CEO guy wasn't lying. My Granny had an Electrolux from the 1960s, and it was still working in the 2010s. He may have undersold it, a bit. Wish they made something like that today.
I still use an Electrolux Ap100 with a genuine replacement hose along with an original Sidekick attachment, great machine, still has the original motor in both the cleaner and Power Nozzle, also own an E2000 Canister along with a 1590 and E130A Central Power Units Can't go wrong with a real Electrolux!!!!
It’s true lol my grandma and mom both have one of these I’m 28 years old now and I can remember when I was seven and my mom used to chase me with hers! 😂
THE ANSWER IS YES! BOUGHT MY OLYMPIA ONE IN 1980 AND IN 2017 IT'S STILL GOING STRONG. REPLACED THE HOSE 2X, THE DUSTING BRUSH AND THE POWER NOZZLE. HINT: LOOK FOR HEPA BAGS ON-LINE, THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO AREUS PAPER. ALSO AERUS SELLS A "AFTER BAG" CARBON FILTERS. YOU PLACE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CHAMBER.
Mine is still working 2018. My grandmother gave it to me 20 years ago when I moved out on my own. Back then, I didn't appreciate as much as I do now. It outlasted all my other vacuums only thing is that it's just a pain in the butt to carry up and down stairs.
@@andynorvell4953 thanks for commenting. I tried to find prices online. I went as far as googling vacuum tv ads and sales ad from back then and still found nothing indicating price. We kinda inherited one and knew it was old so we were just curious how much it cost back then. It works better than the vacuum that we bought brand new 2 yrs ago... the quality of todays products🤔
One commercial where the pitchman doesn't lie. It's the year 2017, Charlie and my Olympia does still work, even with irregular/neglected maintence. The Power Nozzle does need some tweaking though, the brushroll keeps popping out of the slot.
I grew up using an electrolux canister vacuum in the 80's. We had the same model as the one advertised at the end of the video. It was the best vacuum ever !!! It was definitely built to last. Unfortunately I ruined it when I decided to use it to suck up water. 😞🤦♂️
WE'RE COMING UP ON 2020 AN MY OLYMPIA ONE IS STILL WORKING FINE. REPLACED THE HOSE A COUPLE TIMES (CURRENT HOSES ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO THE BRAIDED) AND THE POWER NOZZLE.
My parents got from the door to door salesman...man I thought those things were heavy but I'll bet they could suck a golf ball thought a garden hose like Pyle
@@Channel-cm7yc if people didn't care there wouldn't be a difference, you may settle for a piece of shit like this but that doesn't mean others should too.
