I removed and rinsed my GE washer water pump few times, put it back on, and is working now just fine (it was not spinning nor draining), so I saved some money.

I've got the GE Top Load just like this one mine spins but when clothes are done they are still a little wet could it be the "BELT"? the pump is pumping the water out my thoughts are maybe the belt is slipping and not spinning as it should I had the front cover off but didn't see and belt dust in the bottom of it

Mine like that one, spins without draining there no matter the load size sling water over the top ring and come out over flow pipe.Pump works on some cycles. Pump clear, no debris. Opening Lid switch or unplugging is only way to stop it spinning . Pushing in timer does not. Also goes straight from fill up with water at beginning to slow spin then cycles to rapid spin( no draining) therefore slings water over top ring and run out over flow pipe. Unless I remove water level hose from tub dome, blow into hose pinchbit off, which causes it to agitate and stop filling with water but once it cycles to rinse and spin it drains, then spins but will not ever automatically stop via timer. Only unplugging or opening lid will shut it off. Timer? Water level switch? Both?😮
Hello. I've put a new motor and lid switch into my washer and it still doesn't spin. However, when testing, I did not have the water hoses connected. Does the unit need water to initiate the spin cycle?

What if the belt is still on there and it's still rotating well But having that issue still would the clothes be in wet after a whole cycle doesn't even start to spend even through the cycle

Check the belt for glazing or stretch. These wear signs will cause the belt to slip on the pulleys and therefore spin more slowly and less efficiently. Often times you'll be able to stop the drum with your hand during the cycle. That's a worn belt. The part number you need should be pretty easy to read on the belt itself. I highly recommend buying OEM parts for washers & dryers. (For all appliances, for that matter.) Less common trouble is your clutch. Take it off & test it. If the springy thingy runs easy laps around the part when you push it, the clutch is bad. Another easy fix, but again, OEM straight from the manufacturer's own web site. Don't trust the cleanliness of your skivvies to the hardest working 8 year old in China.
I have a ge top loader with the same problem, ive checked the bet and the tube on the side, it will spin if I reset the machine but then it stops and i have to repeat the process. Please advise.

I have a GE WCXR1070T5AA, the drain pump never stops when it drains the tub. Because of this the controller never commands it to do the spin cycle (the motor belt is fine, the tub agitates okay). Is the water level switch that is driven by the air dome hose how the machine tells that the tub is emptied of water? What I don't understand is, if that's true (the hose is clogged), then why does the tub fill to the right load level? Is it possible the water level switch works for the load levels (extra small, medium, etc) but the switch doesn't work for just detecting the water is gone?

@@Appliancevideo Actually I found out the drain pump just runs continuously thru the spin cycle, the problem was that the spin cycle was never starting. But then I did a test cycle (extra small to save time and water) and it worked correctly. All I did to the machine was to blow in the water level tube to test the level switch (heard click as expected) and then I blew out the air dome with a can of compressed gas. Either that fixed it or the problem is occasional

Guys if it is not the belt, it might be the water level tube on the side of the drum. It that tube is clogged, it wont tell the unit it has drained all the watwr and then wont start the spin cycle.

Too easy, a broken belt. Have a problem with a washer which looks identical inside. It washes, drains and then spins a little bit. But not with enough speed to pull the water from the clothes, or even sling out the softener from the cup. Frustrating.....

The Parts Department tells me that they cannot be of any assistance, that they ONLY sell parts. I certainly would appreciate some help, otherwise it will be a new washer, likely not GE.
@@emmyhusfloen The solution was to replace the GE with a Speed Queen. Problem solved. The time and money spent chasing the particular problem wasn't going to be a good investment.
