One thing you need to look at is the drive belt. Oil from the transmission will saturate the belt causing it to slip. Out of balance due to under rated suspension springs. There is a service bulletin for that. Me-Retired GE technician 40 years service. Quite a few problems can cause poor water extraction. Over sudsing of detergent is one of them.

Hubby comes home from work. Wife says, "Honey, the washing machine is leaking. Can you fix it?" He points to his shirt pocket and says, "Does this say Maytag?" She says "whatever". The next day Hubby bomes home from work. Wife says, "Honey, the refrigerator stopped working. Can you fix it?" Again he points at his shirt pocket and says, "Does this say Frigidaire?" She says, whatever. The next day Hubby comes home from work and everything was working. He says, "I see you got everything fixed. Great. How much did that cost us?" She says, "Nothing. Repair guy said he'd do it free if I either baked him a cake, or blew him." Hubby says, "Well I hope you baked him a cake?!?" She points at her shirt pocket and says, "Does this say Betty Crocker?"
