Just me running through the gears on Big Betty, my 1970 M35A2 Deuce and a Half. I hit 1-5 in low range and the hit 4 and 5 again in high range. Not perfect but sounding pretty good.
The instrument lights are the original military lights. There are two light bulbs with red covers positioned in the middle portion of the panel. The gauges are all built with "windows" that let the red light shine into the side of the gauge. They pyro gauge mounted on the steering column is an Isspro gauge with a clear bulb light. I need to get a red bulb for that one.
I've always wondered how these things handle while driving them... I'd imagine the suspension is fairly stiff so it's not rocking all over the place, and the throttle is linked straight to the engine, so it'd be relatively responsive. How are they to keep control of on the road?
I run diesel fuel only. The alternatives (WMO, WVO, other oils) cause too much maintenance for me. The truck will run on almost anything, but the filter and tank maintenance is too much, not to mention the collection, processing and storing of alternative fuel.
