My bezel dislodged. I lost the gasket & the springs etc Samsung Malaysia could not help me & 2 service centers insisted that i had to replace the entire LCD screen to fix the bezel. And i was informed that there no longer is stock for the bezel parts or for the LCD. I showed them this video & they never replied. I ordered the gasket set from the link in the video, & followed this tutorial. I managed to fix my bezel!!! The gasket set is from the UK from this seller "fonejoy" and i received the set complete with 4 springs + 4 ball bearings within 3 weeks It worked!! This video really helped me & i hope others who come here find their solutions too. Thanks Greg! 🤘. Its a beautiful watch & it's still sought after here.
I did this with my Gear S3 frontier. worked fine. only little trick I used is that when putting it all back together, put the plastic ring in the bezel (facing the right way ofcourse) and then putting it back together. Snapt right in place without any issues. When I tried to do it with the plastic ring on the watch itself the 4 balls would just shoot out. And yea the S3 Frontier has 4 of those little springs + balls so be carefull! Thanks for the amazing video, true life saver!
Greg, Thanks for helping me. I got my parts from a company called Stellatech. The rework kit comprises of one gasket, four bearings and four springs. I found that it is even easier to fit the springs using a pin. Using a pin, slide it through the middle of the spring and gently pick it up. Place the point of the spring on the hole. Using another pin, gently slide the spring off into the hole. Repeat this three times. Before place the bearings. The rest is easy.
I didn't need to buy the rework kit cuz I was able to find all of my pieces, but OH MY GOSH thank you! I stopped using my watch for about 4 months because I couldn't fix it or find a reliable how-to. Thank you SO much for this. My boyfriend fixed it in about 5 minutes! Thank you thank you!!!!
Huge Tip! I literally used my index finger and applied pressure to the spring and bearing and guided them into the watch. This process took me about 12 seconds, it can be tricky but it is very easy with your index finger. Thanks for the link on the items!
Today my bezel came off my Samsung Gear S2 Classic while I was washing my hands. At first I kinda panicked but went to youtube and found your video. Luckily I was able to repair mine without needing to mess with the spring or ball bearing. I reattached my bezel using silicone. I made a video of the entire process on my channel, in case anyone wants to see what I had to go through on the other version of this smartwatch.
Great video, very descriptive. I dropped my watch on a cement floor, scratching the bezel (you could see the silver scratches through the black paint). I was going to buy the rework kit but with the help of your video I just popped off the bezel, painted it with spray paint and put it back on. Good as new (sort of)!
I would say the instructional video is an A job, very good pace, informative. 2 comments: plastic ring orientation was tricky you kinda flipped it just before placement, i had to watch very close. I would stress the importance of the plastic ring placement. Yours was a better (slightly bigger around) size. Mine had wider gap, it made it a little more difficult to get it in the grove. That piece has to be perfectly in place or no snap. Also it falls out as you turn to place bezel on face, bezel will not snap on if that ring isn't evenly snug all the way around, inside the groove in the bezel. fyi my kit came with 4 springs and balls, I used them all, it is working great. my bezel is there, but it feels loose, I'm not sure if it's normal...but it get easily turned when I sleep with it on and accidentally rub it onto the bedsheets...and its even worse when I take a shower..and when the screen gets on it starts to do crazy thing like changing watch faces, and turning on airplane mode and so on..I might be alittle too sensitive about it but I just wish it could be more clean and neat, or they could replace the bezel with a touch sensitive sensor ring or something that carries out the rotating action and at the same time not rattle..
Johnsunlovespiano That sounds like the same response I was getting when I put the bezel on without the bearing and spring. Also might want to make sure your plastic ring has the ridges facing down.
My kit came with 4 bearings and springs. When I used all of them it was super tight and didn't rotate as easily. Before I take them out, did yours work just fine with the one?
Jennifer Conn Now I feel cheated... share? Mine works fine with one, but I only feel the "click" on the one side I put it on. You might want to try opposite corners
I finally picked up the courage to remove my bezel as it was sticking and occasionally small bits of black material came out. Turns out those four grooves at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions had what looked like a black strip of some kind in them which was disintegrating. I gently removed all that and cleaned all the surfaces under the bezel. Hopefully it was a build up of crap that collected in those grooves and wasn't supposed to be there. Mine also had four springs and ceramic bearings. I found that a toothpick was ideal for those springs as the tip just fit inside perfectly. Did yours have anything in those four grooves or was it just bare metal?
yeah now i get it.. you don't know unitl you do it. i pryed mine apart per instructions. best to stick with plastic spudger... i did try a thin metal one at the same time , but that felt like i was gong to damage something. stick with plaastic spudgeer. and just a little extra ummffhh when pushing upward to release bezel. i did this blindy... i came to this video on how to reinstall bezel after cleaning... so, there was so much crud under there. the ball bearing and spring didnt go flying.... Lucked out there. *** TIP ON REASSEMBLE*** after putting plastic gap in upper groove of bezel. make a mark on the outside of bezel with marker to show where the gap is in the plastic ring. Then line that mark up with the ball bearing and evenly press bezel down and it just snaps right into place.... IF IT GOES ON ANY OTHER PLACE... IT WILL FIGHT YOU... remove bezel and start over. I tried over 12 times till i relized that the flat side of the plastic ring is how it sits on bezel. and the uneven side is on top. and it just grips perfectly in that upper inner ring. it just fits there naturally... i don't how else to explain it. Press the bezel down slightly first above the mark you made. then press rest of bezel evenly and it just snaps into place without force. i had to soak bezel in jewerly cleaner for couple hours and then brushed it after. that was also why i used it. becuase there was so much grime in there it erased the upper inner ring that i didnt know it was there. that was also why i couldnt a good fit when trying to fit plastic ring in there it was still dirty and still not right... this is also my first time doing this procedure. good learning experience
Heckies: I just used my fingernail to pop it off. It's pretty strong so it didn't bend or anything. just apply even pressure in a couple of spots on one side and it should come right off.
Debbie Smith I have no experience with the S2 Classic. I've always used a tempered glass protector on mine so when it gets scratched I remove and replace. My guess is it would be very difficult to replace the glass as it is sealed to complete the waterproofing
I have the 3g model of this and no one has a replacement bezel for it. Does anyone know where I can get one? The other bezels for the different versions do not fit it, they're too small. I believe mine is the R730.
Got this set Fonejoy.com. Came with 4 springs and 4 bearing. Found the retainer or as they called it the gasket is bigger than the ring. Did you cut one side of to make it fit.
I wouldn't clean it with soap. Soapy water tends to get into places normal water can't get in. So if the water proofing isn't done absolutely perfect some soap water might make it into the watch and we all know what happens when water comes into contact with electronics....

Sadly I have come to find out some watches manufactured in Asia dont fit the genuine parts. Sadly the spring and ball bearing where slightly too large for the holes, the gasket I could cut down and it fit but still on the hunt for the springs and ball bearing to fit :/. - Just for others beware of this.
@@VernonOsgood I can confirm the Gear S3 Frontier comes off the same. Just finished mine with help of this video. If you're having trouble putting the bezel back on, try putting the plastic ring in the bezel and then back on the watch, worked great for me!
