This is my take on the tiny retro 28mm Leica lens that is the smallest Leica glass available today.
Honestly, I really wish Leica could re-release some of the classic SMALL glasses, rather than keep pushing out BIGGER/SHARPER lenses that costs us a fortune.

Great video!! I have the original LTM version and it's a great little lens to walk about with on a sunny day. Loving the vintage vibes from it. Keep up the good work!

Nice lens, sweet photo outing! Neat to see the bird photographers with their gear. The images off the new lens are really nice - the colors and warmth look so good. I’m mostly on a 35 and 50, but I wouldn’t mind shooting with that 28. Thanks for sharing! On an unrelated note, would you mind sharing your video process and tools as well (ie camera, lens, tripod, music)? At times it seems you have a tripod, and at others it seems someone is filming you. I like the video quality, plus your editing is really good... I can see this channel growing purely on the content and quality. Not sure if that is your goal, but I do look forward to more videos.

thank you for your kind words! I mainly shoot with my a7s3 with a 28-75 on a tripod if I’m doing talking head stuff. All the outdoor scenes you see, it’s usually my wife shooting me with the active image stabilisation on plus a 20 1.8 g lens (and it worked surprisingly well I guess!)

you’re aware they are completely different design yes? This one is actually a Zeiss planar 1.4 with special glass.

I'm not too sure if they are internationally available. I found them on TAOBAO and it literally translates to pressure-release camera strap by Cam-in. So maybe try google it or search for it on Aliexpress/Ebay?

thank you for your kind words. If you like night photography and prefer small lenses, I guess the best bet is the voigtlander nokton classic which I also reviewed:)

But wow.. how kinda free form this Summaron is. When I ascend to thou level perhaps it will manifest itself into mine quarters where I shall do.. things..with it. Cheers for good work.

I’ve not used SL2 or SL. I mainly shoot with my hasselblad or gfx systems for mirror less experience. Sorry about that!

I bought this lens recently! I traded my leica m7 for one and don't regret it all! I use it a lot on my m6ttl and mp-240. I don't use the hood at all though. I also hate using a filter on mine. sounds snobby of me but I don't like how the filter changes the aesthetic of the lens.

I always have problems using apertures smaller than f8 on a Leica, dusts almost always show in light backgrounds. Do you also have this problem while using this lens? As the largest aperture is only f5.6.

well since I shoot films mostly these days, it's not an issue anymore. But yes I do sometimes have to spot healing the sky or any uniform color from time to time. I think it's not that big of an issue just need to put some extra work into your post.

This lens is so disappointing, do not buy it. It's a waste of money. Let me explain it more. I bought this lens once and when I used my mobile flash light to check the lens I saw many little spots and dusts inside the lens, so I returned the lens and asked them to replace it with another brand new lens. In the second brand new lens, I could still find many spots, so this time i totally returned it and got a full refund. China knows how to mass produce a thing without troubling themselves to do quality check!!! I'm going to buy a vintage lens instead.
