Top tip to help connect the RADAR via USB to the Mooer Studio as the Mooer online instructions are not complete: ·Connect your RADAR to the computer using a USB cable ·Press and hold the “MENU” ·THEN connect the supplied 12v power source to the RADAR (no power is available over the USB connection) This will boot RADAR into “Update Mode”... Loading ·Open the MOOER STUDIO software ·Press the “Search Device” button and then select “RADAR UPDATE” from the Device drop down menu ·Press the “Update” button and wait for the update to complete

+ThomasSchuber; Thats the BEST demo I’ve seen of the Radar! At $150, it’s a must-have. I gotta read the website, I hope it can take my effects loop’s PREAMP OUT, of my Orange Rocket 32. And sound better than the amp into a Palmer 040. BTW, what make is you wicked cool double neck Strat???
Great demo, thanks! Gotta do some research on how to upload your own IRs to this, and if that's doable without an astrophysics degree, I'll get myself one. BTW, the EQ section is the "dealmaker" for me, especially the dedicated HP filter: On at least two gigs last year, I had to play through PAs with woofers that were decoupled at 220! and 300ish!!! Hz as opposed to the standard 82? 83? Hz. Result: Tele into AC30 with a RedBox feeding the board = a metric ton of bass mush through the PA. Sound guy reaction in both cases "I'm just a student temp, I'm not allowed to change crossover frequencies. What's a high pass filter?". Ended up playing both gigs mostly on the neck PU of my Les Paul as I've re-wired its neck tone pot as a bass cut (...who needs a freaken hi cut on an LP neck pup ?!?...). If you're using an IR loader live, the EQ might become your new best friend if/when you encounter the above situation with woofers...
Just like in the healthcare industry, we have to become our own best advocates! It cracks me up, the Line6 floor pods & alike, that assume we’ll ALWAYS have a live sound reinforcement UNION Professional working the 300 head capacity tavern, for beer & a sandwich, go figure! (Um, I actually DO. Gotta eat!), Some such issues can be fixed by going to a Palmer Loadboxes (as I yakked a streak above, I LOVE discussing this stuff, I love Gear Gossip & I’m lonely). I’m tracking to a iPad Pro, so this Radar device following my amp head, a Panama Conquerer 5w, into aPalmer & then the very clear Radar could be the tits. Loading 3rd Party IRS is just downloading them from your PC, Ola Englund demoed that, via his DI powersoak Line6 our from his Randall Diablo!

You can! The weak point of the Pod HD systems are definitely the cab sims. If you're using them with a decent cab sim, you can squeeze some great sounds out of them.
I cannot seem to find anyone to tell how to load other IR to this pedal? How to change file formats of other IR's? This pedal will not load a 3rd party IR that is wave. Do you have any idea on how to covert the wave file to MO file that the Radar uses?
DreidMusicalX I charged irs in the radar for the first time yesterday. It was easy. You need the mooer radar studio in your pc, a power supply for the radar and a usb cable. You need just irs .wav files, not others. Select the cabinet you want to change from the program (you can't add, you have to lose one to charge other), select"+", and choose the .wav file you have downloaded previously from your pc. That's all.

no one talks about latency of this unit. It's not something you can hear with your ears, but I feel some sort of latency under my fingers. Is it the same for you? I have to say that i tried it with no preamp, but pedalboard in the Radar in a mixer
What I don't ultimately get with IRs is, if the capture they response and frequency spectrum of a miked cabinet/speaker, how's that thy need pretty dramatic EQ treatments? To me a 6db correction EQ starts to be a pretty dramatic corrective meassure... Specially can't understand how you need to mess at all with frequencies above 6k or 7k when most guitar speakers actually low pass filter anything above 5/6k ...
An amp + mic doesn't always create a perfect tone that needs no adjustment; there are plenty of instances where a mic on an amp will still get a decent amount of EQ in the mix. There's also the aspect here where, in addition to standard "amp + mic in a room" IRs, there are also essentially "synthesized" IRs (as demonstrated starting around 10:39) - where the user defines the cabinet model, the mic, and the mic location, and an approximation of that desired combination is what you get. That synthesized IR may or may not be exactly what the user had in mind, without some EQ here and there.
According to the manual, it is written that output is balanced. There is no need to use extra DI box. But you should use proper stereo cable for balanced signal, not regular unbalanced audio cable.
That's exactly right. According to the manual, the 1/4 output jack can be used with a TRS cable, or a TRS to XLR cable, for a balanced line output. Which is cool, it keeps the pedal small. You can plug into a mixer that has a balanced 1/4" input.
