For the same price and discount, I can HIGHLY recommend the Gearit GTL-200 (especially in Surf Green). Great looks, very versatile and a great player after setup.
Also as an owner of this guitar I gotta say I’ve never been a huge fan of the idea of gunmetal gray/graphite color. But it looks absolutely amazing in person!!!! 🎸
sweet guitar brother! love the charcol metallic! i recently bagged a surf green GEARIT tele clone....super nice with the same "goodiebag" and gigbag.....
Great review I have this one and the Tele I gig with them both no issues. I love GearIT they are my main guitars and the only thing I did was changed out the tuners
I really enjoyed your review! This looks like a very nice guitar,, I really like the 2 point tremelo and split coil bridge pickup!! Very nice for the price!!
Always wanted an HSS Strat, got one of these and it actually plays incredibly well and sounds great! Heavy at 9 pounds but otherwise best $98 I’ve spent.
Hi Joe. I got the same guitar but it's blue. You got a really good deal. I bought mine back in December for $116 and that was a great deal. I did a good bit of tweaking(truss rod, string height, trem setup, cleaned the fret board and polished the frets, new strings, intonate) to get it to play the way I wanted it to but it does play good now. The only issue I have now, but have not addressed it yet (to lazy), is the high E string will get caught on a few of the frets. The single coils are not great, but I think the humbucker on the bridge is decent. All is all, after proper setup, it's a decent playing guitar for the money.
I really appreciate what you do; creating these great videos. But I have one constructive suggestion: If possible, record the guitar separately from your webcam microphone. That mic will pick up any acoustic strumming and makes the guitar sound awful when combined with the guitar amp. The two tones fight each other very badly. Might require two separate tracks upon editing your video, but it would bring huge value to your videos and channel overall. I guarantee it. Please consider.
Nice review, Joe! You have some serious GAS lately! 😁 I've been curious about that exact guitar, but prior to you, the reviews have been non-existent. How does the neck feel? How does it compare to other similar guitars you have tried? Thanks for taking the plunge and giving us an honest review!!
I love the neck and frets on these. , pre cut rounded fret ends. Med thin D shape neck. Not a fan of the electronics. Folks who keep their pinky on the volume and do a lot of swells may not like the taper. The humbucker has a lot of highs cut so I bet it is being affected by that 250 k volume pot.
I bought 2 of the mahogany version. The neck and frets are very nice. The pickups and electronics are pretty mediocre. The taper for the volume pot is not even and I am guessing by how much treble is rolled off the humbucker that everything is routed via 250k pots. The single coils are ceramic and pretty underwound ( 5k). Both guitars will get a 35$ alnico pre wired pickguard. The tuners on mine are fine. Heck of a deal.
Personal opinion: The pickups are probably the best part of the guitar. They’re really not bad sounding. Everything else about it sounds pretty average.
