@@joshuawillis602 They are more or less the same. Marcus was convicted for leaving his post and go on a personal journey to save Adam Fenix. Many people died because of his actions and Hoffman personally had to clean his mess. Kait had been unconsciously controlling the Swarm in every single of her "nightmares", and she herself was a risk for the COG and her fellow gears. She never said a word about it, and the plot wants us to despise JD for hiding information, but not her. Kait left her post, disobeyed direct orders in three separate ocassions and had no consequence for her actions. She even aimed her gun against the pregnant president of her nation. This scene is specially dumb, because Marcus, JD, and Cole completely broke their characters and retconned their previous incidents with the COG and its authority. Kait's not fit for duty.

A new enemy is against the human race after most of it died during the last war and you have a person who was connected to the hive mind and joined the gears not long ago who was also a stranded who stole from the Cog and is in your command center... yeah I think arresting her and making sure she isn't a threat is about right.

I’d say it’s pretty damn clear she’s not a threat. She’s an ally and hates the swarm as any other person. Jinn was out of line and that’s why Kait’s friends supported her.
Kait is sufficiently awful on her own, but the real crime of Gears 5 is the way the narrative disfigured and bullies JD to the point where he is a brain-damaged, wounded shadow of his former self. Within ten minutes of 5 JD is a fallen hero, shamed and utterly disowned by his father. TC did all this just to make Kait remotely palatable and she still didn't stick the landing.

@@GnosisZX Marcus literally disobeyed orders to save his father. He didn’t just give Hoffman a hard time he literally punched him in the face. Also Kait was in danger of being turned into a queen herself. Her actions prevented that from happening. Her actions helped get the hammer of dawn back online and gave humanity an edge against the swarm.
"Watching eachothers backs" is a bad strategy since all your attention should be focused on the enemy and if you at the same time focus on your buddies you increase the risk of death or injury so the idea of everyone watching eachothers backs is bad one

correction all of Gear's fans actually hates her. due to her inability to listen and forcing people to submit to her fascist wat running things i mean seriously in GOW4 she accusses the outsiders of abducting her people with zero evidence and then attacking the said group unprovoked and in the tie in books and comics hoffman and her already knew the existance of the swarm, as if jinn was trying to deny the existance of a new threat, and when hoffman propose to make a group who specializes in taking down the hives she outright refuses it and insist's the DB's can handle it when in truth it didn't.
