"I'm so excited, Just can't Hide" You did a wonderful job with the pronunciation! Carnival Wet strength tissue works really well for the removal technique you first showed... you can then use tissue paper much like using napkins. The paint will build up unless you let the paper with the pull layer of paint dry completely. You can remove the stuck on paint with packing tape and it is always good to condition your plate with mineral oil after each use. The paper bags turned out amazing! Again thank you so much for the opportunity and please let us know if you and Luise ever want to collab with a video. We would be honored and excited to work with Luise again!!! Big Texas Hugs.
I'm the P in PM Artist Studio...you have given me some ideas, some different color combos and using the yellow ochre AFTER the layer underneath dries was one of those "ah-ha" moments! The stencils got a good workout and you are doing a great job with the layers and printing. Perhaps ordering another plate to alternate with the one drying might help out with the wait time--the heat gun can cause issues and one of them is drying out the plate leading to paper pull offs on the final pull. This was a delightful video to watch and your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you so much for taking time to do this; it is very much appreciated.
Nice to meet you, Patricia! Thanks so much for your kind feedback and for your tips! I actually have a 2nd plate, but didn’t think of alternating them, brilliant! Thank you also for sponsoring these lovely stencils! I had so much fun with them!
Hi Patricia...I love your stencils. Could you tell me what they are made of? how strong/sturdy are they? like...with careful use, what is their expected life span? I see several I'll be ordering. thanks
I've been loving and using p.m. artist studio stencils for months. Im so glad you had so much fun with them! The bags look great! Patricia has lots of great gel plate techniques she shows on their yt channel. I hope you have a delightful day. Love&hugs
I love PM Artist Studio stencils and masks, especially on the Gelli plate! You made some really cool prints, it is very time consuming but quite addictive! Can’t wait, well, not that I want it to be December but, I am eager for Decemerember to start! 💕🇨🇦
Ooooo LOVE the stencils! So glad they asked you to try them out. They're gorgeous! The print technique is super and I'm looking forward to trying that out, your teaching, as ever, was excellent. Thank you!
PM Artists Studio has the BEST stencils. I only have a few so far. But they work so great. They use Yupo to make stencils. So they are very thin but strong. Great for a clear print. Reminds me I need to make an order today for more stencils. LOL Their designs are FANTASTIC. I love the bags gel printing idea. I just finally got some bags, and paints, so I can do this method. Looking forward to Decemerember (???) or whatever its called!! LOL Last year it was so FUN to watch every day what y'all made. You started my day all of December 2022. What a great idea. You and Louise are so knowledgeable and entertaining!!! Thanks for all your fabulous, creative videos. I remember first seeing your videos 2 years ago. And I've truly enjoyed watching ever since. Thanks for another fantastic video. Hugs & Love from Austin,TX USA
I can see how this would be very addictive! I still haven’t tried mine. I bought everything….. EVERYTHING! Binge watched people using their Gelli Plates. Worked up my courage. But still haven’t tried it. One of my “problems” is that I have a Dachshund that thinks he has to be on my lap every waking moment. I haven’t figured out how to tell him to sit by my feet. “It’s okay baby. Mommas not leaving you!” Lol. I absolutely loved watching you do these bags. And seeing the splatters at the end! Perfect! They need the splatters. It’s like getting all dressed up to go out but you don’t wear jewelry. Lol. Thanks for sharing these. So fun!!
Luise is so funny and talented, I just don't have time to watch everyone these day 😔. I'll probably spend a day binging them lol. Oh how exciting looking through surprise stencils and packaging! Oh WOW, very cool stencils and masks 😍. Oh getting the 'leftovers ' is very cool 😎. Well pronounced👏. Oh WOW, amazing prints 😍😍😍. Fantastic technique, you've definitely got the knack of gel printing now 👏👏👏. I'm thinking maybe it's the bag material that's causing the sticking rather than your technique. I am super impressed and spent the whole video saying 'WOW '!!! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Beautiful stuff Barbara! When you have paper that peels it sometimes it helps to peel the plate off from the paper instead of the paper off the plate. The plate is flexibel so you can kind of role it off.💖🍀
This was a fantastic video and you mentioned some of my favorite people; PM artist Studio, Karen Burchill and the always lovely Luise. I love this technique from Karen and I have played with many of PM’s awesome stencils. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! These are wonderful! I love the backs so much. They have a feel of galaxy paintings. I can’t wait to see how you and Luise are going to use them. Thank you so much, 🎉🤗😘🥰😍
Awesome prints! Your paint may be sticking because of using the heat gun to dry your paint, it could be slightly melting the paint into the surface of your gelli plate. The stencils are wonderful.
I love the Colab with P and M. and 49. Such a beautiful day ro settled in and gellie. All your prints are a beautiful array of sunshine. Hope wr see them back in Dec. Hugs, from VIRGINIA
Barbara when you have the stuck on paint after your final pull try putting matte medium over the whole plate and put your paper down and leave until the paper feels warm. (Dry). Pull and see if it comes clean. You can use that print for foder or add more printing on top. Love watching you experiment. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦. One last thought if you are using your heat tool you may be cooking your paint. Be careful not to burn your plate. ❤
I’m thinking if you are using your heat gun to dry paint in between layers that might be causing the sticking. Heat guns and gelli plates don’t mix. Love your prints though!
I love pm artist Studio so much and I’m so happy to see you collaborating with them! Their stencils are the best! One thing I learned from them is sometimes you need to moisturize your plate and that might be why it was sticking so bad. Take some food grade mineral oil and rub it on the plate and let it soak in over night. You will find in the morning that it soaked it all in. I love all the prints you made!!💜
They turned out beautiful. Each is unique with its textures and colors. I’ve been wanting to get a hello plate for years but have always been intimidated. After seeing this video I ordered me my first gelli plates. I will finally be able to use all my paint tubes and stencils that I have to create some fun projects. Thanks Barbara.
These are great. Getting excited for December!!!! I loved watching this video, I’ve watched a lot of gel print videos. Yours explained things the best I’ve seen. Very simple, not too many layers, not too many paints. I’m all about that. And they turned out wonderful ❤️❤️
Thank you for such a great video! I’ve heard of these, and seen them on other you tube videos, but I never really GOT HOW COOL the stencil patterns are from this company. Once again, a favorite video to save ☯️
Speechless 💕😊 they are so beautiful sweetie, you really were on a roll. Those prints you lifted with the packaging paper will give you even more gorgeous journal and collage fodder for the future. Super curious about how these will be used 😄😉
I absolutely love those stencils! Saw some recently & they’re so gorgeous. Definitely on my wish list, especially now I know you can ask for the outer parts & cutouts as well. Thank you for sharing that
It's good to see you being more confident with the jelly plate. Your pronounciation was fine. I think you might need a baron. That is an instrument you use for rubbing over the paper instead of your hand. You get a more even pressure. My baron is made of polished banana skins. I think the sticking bits have to do with your top layer drying out to much before you lift. I wipe baby oil over my gelli plate when I have finished because they do tend to dry out. It's always a bit hit and miss with gelli printing I find. I love D&M studios. They are such characters. I am looking forward to dephemerember. I am enjoying the papers I ordered from you too. Arohanui from me in Aotearoa New Zealand. Xxx
Love them all but really like #22 which you said is not your favorite. Something for everyone. Gelli printing hurts my brain trying to figure out the order for layering paint and stencils. You sure do a wonderful job and the stencils you used are all really fun designs.
