I am finding myself on a GEM journey. I was just wondering how this Ever Ready 1912 compares to the GEM Damaskeene and Damaskeene OC in terms of smoothness/comfort and in terms of efficiency. If you could sorta rank these three razors
Damaskeene OC is usually very mild, surprisingly! I would rate Ever Ready 1912 as slightly more efficient and slightly less comfortable than Damaskeene SB. So.. Damaskeene OC < Damaskeene SB < ER 1912 Hope that helps
Nice shave. Glad you weren’t completely put off by the scent of the Hippie Blend. It’s ideal for a springtime shave imo but if you associate certain scents with actual hippies, you’d probably have bad vibes from the soap.
Hey there r so many GEMs to begin with. Do you have a chart or something which shows models against how mild or aggressive they are, and which models are generally considered more desirable, particularly for sensitive really coarse stubbles. Since, i tried DEs and they dont seem to work for, so i was thinking for GEMs or schicks
Hi, the 1912 models are in the middle of GEMs in terms of aggression I'd say. If you want something milder than that then I'd suggest a Micromatic Bullet Tip, or perhaps a G-Bar. They both have very similar head geometries, so you are really just choosing between the different aesthetics of the two.
If you want mild it's true G bar, Bullet Tip/Flying Wing Tip,Push button are very similar. I personally like my Push Button. For Moderate 1912, Clog Pruf and some won't agree with me but 1924 Ever ready is mid to aggressive(it's my favorite). For Aggressive Micromatic Open Comb.
@@HDShaves Thanks, I understand. Is that difference between 1912 and clog pruf like de89 to r41 or more like game changer 84 vs piccolo for lack of a better illustration :D ? I wanna find out if one of the micromatics is a significant improvement or if they are all in the same ballpark.
@@HDShavesI was hoping for a different answer. I start to feel the that RAD thing is really killing the fun. I'm just owning a wonderful mint 1912 with the early head geometry that is supposed to be similar or very close to the flat cap Damaskeen for 2 days now and having the most awesome, easy shaves with it that I ever had. Still here I am searching for the next better thing, not even knowing what this is supposed to look like. 😅
