Dusting off a project to rebuild the best ride on ever made. Peg Perego Super Gaucho gen 1 has more features and working components than any other ride on. In this video we go over the parts and discuss our plan on parts we have in mind to bring this beast back to life. Feel free to comment below on what color you think we should paint the body and rims. This is going to be one epic build.

How do you troubleshoot these? I know nothing about electronics… I found one used for $200 and bought it. I bought new batteries and a charger for it. Charged it up for a full 24 hrs, plugged it into the car and when you hit the pedal, the red & green lights both come on for a split second. But nothing happens. Please help! I don’t have extra money and am in deep (for us) already

Awesome job! Have one question I have the gaucho A151 1993 currently rebuilding in for my almost 3 year old son (it used to have 6v +6v batteries) and genuine motors still working. I have put new 6v 12 ah * 2. The question up to how many volts would the genuine motors withstand? For later and what would you suggest for upgrade.. Thanks keep up the good job!

Are you going with the metal variable speed pedal (like the one you showed) or the the rubber/plastic one like on the fireball? If you are using the metal one, any reason you used it verses the rubber one?

Most likely the metal one. More mechanical leverage. It really will come down to what type fits the angle of the floorboard. Also have plunger type and top mount like on a golf kart. Lots of things to figure out for sure. Thanks for watching

Lol, hopefully the 3 batteries provide enough ballast to keep the nose down.

@@CustomKidzCars we’re using lithium batteries, so that could be part of the problem. But even at 24v, with 2 riders, if they’re not leaning forward during acceleration, they’re going down lol.

@@minimotorsgarage735 yeah lithium is way lighter and has more punch, lol. Keeping this one simple and didn't want to deal with lvc for those cells

@@CustomKidzCars it’s a big custom pack with a good bms, but yea, still very light. I may try a different pedal, maybe I can find one with a smoother/softer start.
