That’s probably due to millennials currently coping with the fact that genZ took over pop culture in the last 4 years (little early due to the pandemic) And GenX has always been like this they’re just finally figuring out social media. They’d do best to stick with what they’re known for… being forgotten.

Oh and let me add, I’m definitely backing GenZ on this (and most things). The older analog generations have no idea what the first fully digital generation is capable of. Gen X ( technically older millennial). I don't care about any of this. People are people from my experience. Every generation seems to run the spectrum from asshole to asset. I've experienced well brought up reasonable Gen Z-ers and terrible X-ers and the reverse as well. Honestly, I could care less about these stupid social media wars. I would recommend a good sun screen and frownies or some knock off (it’s just paper that sticks to your forehead while you sleep and trains your forehead muscles. Because those lines happen when your skin loses its elasticity and you emote a lot (lifting eyebrows, normal facial movements) and then causes a deep crease. I’d show ya a pic but it’s RU-vid.. anyway there’s like 2 somewhat deep wrinkles near the hairline. Idk the age but I can’t imagine it’s 30s lol.

The people who are claiming street cred based on their age alone *are* a cult- a lot of that stuff did go on, but it was usually like two dozen poor kids out of any given class of 150+. I remember it pretty well- I was one of the poor kids, and hung out with others like me- we'd hunt and fish for food, forage, fight, work on cars, shoot each other with BB guns, etc. every day- most of the other kids around would tag along once in a while and then pretend like it was their normal lifestyle because it felt exciting, even though they lived in nice houses with stocked fridges and satellite TV and just went "slumming" once in a while. Everyone was reasonably cool with one another, so that wasn't really a problem, but jumping back in when you're 50 and pretending that everyone that age had the same life is just a straight-up lie. Most of those people were playing organized sports, or hanging out inside each others' houses playing video games in air-conditioned houses, not running around acting like urban commandos- it was usually a struggle to scrape together a dozen people to go swimming in the park, much less start a gang war like we were in the ghetto or something- and in many cases, the "lack of supervision" was an illusion- if you fucked around at a buddy's house, his dad would kick your ass for it and then call your parents... they just had phone trees and crap and agreed to watch any kid running around as a community. What *is* true is that we spent more time outside and are tougher as a result of that- the rich kids were still marshmallows, but if all you had to do at home was play Super Mario Bros. for the billionth time, it was just a lot more fun to go out and screw around with your pals. After a while, anything gets boring, so we'd do things like build tree houses and fix up old dirtbikes to race around, which built a bit more muscle and caused more minor injuries than playing candy crush and watching tiktok.

Its all about technology. Kids had more freedom before cell phones. Maybe some were neglected, but growing up changed from being something exciting to being a drag sometimes after 2000. I was born 1980, so the shift happened right when I was growing up.
