They gold we wore back then was real gold, not gold plated.... the only plated things then and now was/is rims and car accessories. I'm not sure if it was 10 karat or 14 karat gold.... the rope chains were hollow but real gold

Gold plated is fake. The jewelry Rakim has on is solid gold which means gold it 100 percent gold. Gold plated is putting gold on top of a non-gold material which eventually rubs off.

Most of us back then didn't wear Gold plated jewelry. Those jewelry were solid 14K or 24K gold chains. Now the rappers had the big ropes while us common folks just wore small chains. 😂😂😂
