Gender Reveals That Went HORRIBLY Wrong 

It truly amazes me how people can't comprehend that explosions (which generate heat) do not mix with drought conditions.

Imagine being the kid that’s born who’s parents caused a massive wildfire

The origin of the gender reveal is someone just baking a cake and cutting into it. No explosives nothing spectacular. How did we go from cake to massive explosions? Human stupidity

I’m noticing a trend. A lot of these would have been prevented with a modicum of common sense or critical thinking.

Back in the 60s, my parents had a very unique way of revealing my gender: My mom was at the hospital. I was born. My dad came out of the delivery room and said, “It’s a boy!” I don’t think anyone does that anymore.

The thing that makes me sad - the woman who popularized gender reveals regrets what she did. The reason she had a gender reveal? She had multiple miscarriages and was excited to celebrate this pregnancy. This was her first pregnancy where she was far enough along to determine the baby's gender. Makes me sad that her just sharing a little moment of joy unintentionally caused the deaths of many people trying to "one up" others.

Just goes to show you that not all people should be parents.

I, personally, just find these gender reveal parties to be absurd. And in an attempt to one-up others in some cases, extremely dangerous. I don't even know if they were even a thing back in 2007/2008 when I was pregnant. If they were, they must've been scarce. I wasn't nearly as much out of the loop back then as I am now. Lol. But anyway, I was perfectly fine, content, and grateful for the baby shower that was thrown for me. No one was harmed or killed, no fires were started, and no planes crashed (of which I'm aware). These parties are getting way out of control, and for the most part, are seemingly not worth it.

And all these get to live their entire lives knowing that their existance caused horrible things before even being born.

Just go back to cutting cakes and popping balloons if you really want to have a gender reveal party. You don't need fire or explosives or planes. Just having a baby is a memorable experience, it doesn't need fireworks or jail time for that. Lives don't have to be lost for an announcement.

The tragic thing to me is that, like... even with basic reveals, like a cake... Jenna Karvunidis in 2008 was the first one to do a gender reveal, it was a simple cake that cut to reveal the colour pink. She did this because she'd suffered a series of miscarriages and this was the first time that her pregnancy had gone far enough along to actually, like. Find out the sex of the baby? It was a genuine accomplishment and celebration? But now its just become completely bombastic and over-the-top, and its just. Done for any random pregnancy because they can. Its lost the meaning that it originally had. Its just... sad. The original mom who unwittingly started the trend regrets it, and the thing she wanted to do was just to celebrate that her pregnancy had gone that far along. That girl that she carried to term? Wears suits and challenged her mom's takes and views on gender. She's happy to let her child explore and be how she wants to. This? Its just... Sad, man. Its sad.

Oh My God will you believe that the third story also happened here in Indonesia, using a flare stick, but it was a pre-wedding photo session instead of a gender reveal. It also caused wildfires and burned about 50 hectares of land on a mountain called Bromo, so it has to be closed completely. Apparently, when the fire started, the couple and their photographer just watched it burn, and did nothing to put it out. Smh.

This is a stupid trend. Embrace the gender when the child is born. Some may say it's like a surprise for the friends and family, it's even more surprise when they come to know the gender after the baby is born. This causes psychological effect on the parents and siblings of the baby, some may be disappointed with the gender and starts to think to avoid even after the child is born. Due to social media, parents are becoming more to show fake lives and stupid trends. Hope this trend stops.

At that altitude there is no recovery before impact; I speak from experience practicing dozens of stalls at all different speeds and configurations in similar type and size aircraft

my cousins had a gender reveal party. it was a sweet, small, campy party in their barn. they revealed their baby’s gender with a sweet firework show and was a very fun event. idk why some people have to be so extreme
