Jack E. Leonard, one of the all time greats. And who know that he could carry a tune, and was so graceful!!! Hollywood Palace, The Ed Sullivan Show and the other shows of this era are true entertainment, not the crap that is thrown at us on network TV today. Thank God for RU-vid!!!

Wonderful segment with Theo Bikel. Singing and playing guitar with him on the Russian Roma song "Dve Gitari; Две Гитары" is Alex Hassilev (now 87, and the last survivor of the original Limeliters folk trio, which included Glenn Yarbrough & Lou Gottlieb). Start at 15:11. We lost Bikel in 2015 at the age of 91. Second song is the comedic Kretshma in English (Alex doesn't sing but again plays guitar). Also, I loved the Mort Sahl segment (start at 43:13). A year later, MLK and RFK, whom he mentions, were both tragically assassinated.

Fantastic upload, thanks. I only really know Jack E. Leonard from his wee bit in "The Disorderly Orderly", so it was great to see a bit of his act.

Gene Barry also sang on an episode of...PETE & GLADYS, of all things (playing himself)--and ultimately Broadway, in the original production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.

I saw Charles Aznavour perform The Two Guitars... probably the best performer I've ever seen...

I remember that Glo-Coat ad. It seems weirder now. Way, way weirder.

Jack was a great comedian, thanks for posting. There was a u-tube vid on here a while back doing another standup, but don't know what show it was on. Do you have any standup video of "Moms Mabely"? The only thing I saw of her was on a clip from an Ed Sullivan show several years ago

Too bad they don't have more of Jack E Leonard's appearences.

Here's proof that Mort Sahl was "still funny" and was working as a comic in all seriousness--while still being obsessed over the errors of the Warren Report.

So the first half of the show is sponsored by Bayer and the second half by Bufferin? That's weird. A bit like simultaneously being sponsored by GM and Ford.

That's because here in our "Free Market" we have competition! Oil Producing Export Countries have "Cartels." Here we have "Crony Capitalism." Mort Sahl will diagram on a roll-away chalk-board where I may be slotted on the POLITICAL IDENTITY SPECTRUM {Creative Commons Copyright} Mitch Ritter\Non-Aligned Paradigm Shifters Lay-Low Studios, Ore-Wa Media Discussion Group

The Mort Sahl segment is excellent. Imagine a variety show today devoting ten minutes to a routine as intelligent as that. I wonder what Mort would make of the Trump presidency if he did that act today?

From a time when "America" still had a sense of humor! The "Mr. Moto" routine, though riotously funny, would NEVER be acceptable in today's beige/grey, nothing-is-funny, microaggression, tragic world. Hell, let's laugh! Laugh at ourselves, laugh at others, laugh at God's ironies... ...It doesn't matter; just LAUGH!
