Sorry, Gene has never been a f****** good singer. He would probably tell you that himself but then again he's a little bit narcissistic so I'm not too sure about that
Mmmm, nop... he sounded better in 1975... but yes, he is sounding way better than a couple of years before, and have more hair (?), and less weight.... maybe he can fit in de spaceman suit.... sorry Tommy, heheheheh
For the most part, Gene has mellowed over the years and is much more accepting of each former members character flaws. Paul on the other hand has to point them out in every interview. I think Gene realizes that the clock is ticking on life and he is trying to be a bit more inclusive with the former members.
Got chills watching and hearing that...brought me right back to the 70's lol!! WAY better than what Kiss as a band sounds like nowadays. Gene sounding a playing great, and Ace still playing great. Now I'm gonna need to go and dig out my Alive album.
I think they do, and Ace's fun personality plays very well against Gene's serious side. I think that now a lot of the BS is behind them, they are good friends.
They seem to enjoy each other's company. As long as Ace is sober. But it's a long way from playing a few songs together, a few nights of the year, and be on tour together, for months.
man Gene has a pretty good thing going with this solo band. they sound fresh and seem to really be enjoying playing. gene looks happy as well.....great to see ace up there with him.
Never thought I'd see Ace and Gene on stage together again!! Much have been hard for Ace to do this, only because of Gene.. They both sounded Great!! Thanks for posting this.. 🤓🍻
TheJhale1570 You can put Tommy in Aces makeup and outfit, but he can never replace the original often imitated but never duplicated Spaceman Ace Frehley Lead Guitar!
Lol, nostalgia and facts are two different things..to A.F. fans he can do no wrong and always sound amazing despite A.F. never playing the same lick on any song listen to all his improvisions. Bottom line is Tommy Thayer is what Ace was meant to be..But i admit A.F Genes cash cow for the moment...
Nice to see and hear Ace. But then again so many of you are clueless. I am SO HAPPY I was born at a time when I got to see KISS LIVE over the years since my 1st show in 1977. All of you who are saying how great this sounds, have no clue. Ace was doing his thing, many times thru this the band was lost. Gene pretty much knew where the tune was but even he got a bit lost.
Gene sounds great. He almost always fucks up the timing coming out of the break. Nearly every time I've seen them from the mid-70s to today. And it's still FN GREAT! Rock n RoLLLLLLLLL!!!
@@billycain9890 you're full of shit. They need everything about ace. Without ace. They wouldn't have 90% of their set list. They need aces image to push their tickets bc without the makeup they couldn't do jack. They also constantly re-release merch with ace and Peter on them. They're so keen to shoving the "new" current kiss down everyone's throats and love saying they don't need the originals, yet their own merch store proves otherwise.
Because Gene is smart. People want to see and hear Ace. People want to see and hear Ace and Gene play together. People don't want to hear Paul bitching about everyone who isn't Paul. Because Paul doesn't like any of Gene's or Ace's songs. Because Gene and Ace want to make money.
This was a show in St Paul MN. It was a charity show that Ace got wind of and asked to join in for this show. It raised money for children ravaged by hurricanes in the U.S. Not to shabby for last minute huh
I never knew how awesome Paul Stanley was as a rhythm guitarist... Heck, there's 3 guys playing Paul's part and it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as when Paul plays it. Sounds like Gene's bass lessons from Carol Kaye have paid off, he sounded pretty good.
Gene can’t play to save his fuckin life. Sid Vicious played better than Gene, and Sid didn’t know how to play. But, I’ll give Gene credit-he helped Van Halen
Fn' awesome! People have been saying Ace doesn't sound good on this... I'm like WTF are you talking about. He hasn't played this in about 17 years and rehearsal...Ace rehearsal?
Ed Spangenberg No rehearsal - Ace only played with them onstage in Adelaide and then this show - he said he was still trying to learn their names - this is Genes band and Ace did a set with them first, then came back for last 2 tracks of Genes set
So, here we have Gene and Ace on stage once more. Soon they'll be cursing each other in interviews and in their biographies, only to go on stage and perform again. Don't you just love KISS!
Simmons-Frehley tour with this band. GSB has been tearing it up this summer. Gene is genuinely inspired and in top form at 69 years old. Ace is in good form. Paul should go on and finish his days with Soul Station with Eric. Win/win.
stan broniszewski According to an interview I watched, Bruce said something around the line of, ‘As a business prospective, it would be a good idea. But, I’ve already had my years in KISS, and dressing up and acting exactly like Ace- or the Spaceman would be strange and kind of uncomfortable. Besides, I was already in Grand Funk Railroad.’ These aren’t his exact words, but this is what I remember from the interview.
ACE and Gene need to tour like Plant/ Page did!!! This is as close to a Kiss reunion you're gonna get!! SOUNDS GREAT! enough material between the both of them !!
This is so better than current 'KISS' there's only ONE Ace, I love Vinnie Vincent because aswell as being an excellent guitarist he had his OWN make up as Eric Carr did bless him, REAL KISS is still around as proved here, I hate what they are now I really do : (
These two helped each other conquer the world, and they still sound fucking great. Ace and Paul collaborated on Fire and Water, so what's the problem? KISS need Ace, Peter I don't know about, but it would be cool to see them together.
It's about time Gene started to play bass again like he used to and not prance around playing every now and again. I'm not a huge KISS fan but very impressed
