I read somewhere that if you delete your Lexis Nexis data (which I know is different from opting out), insurance companies might give you a hard time / treat you suspiciously when they notice that. Have you had any issues since opting out? When did you opt out and have you renewed an autoinsurance policy since without a spike in rate?

Gm has severed relationship with the two and will no longer sell the data. Seems to stem from a lawsuit. By the way, I never enrolled, they just enabled it one day and my clue was the wonderful badges I got for driving safely. 😂😂😂 To opt out click on the upper right of the app where you see your initials in a round circle. Scroll down to the gear icon “settings” and in that you can see to opt out. I’d still recommend keeping an eye on it in the future just in case they try something again. Love my Chevy, hate the monetization of “my” data so someone else can become a billionaire FYI the opt out link you provided wants your social security number. No way will I do that.

The "smart driver" item is something I made sure to NOT enable since I first saw it. It just seemed like a trap to me. Since I figured that if you weren't 100% compliant with ALL driving rules, as well as whatever else was in the mix, you would get penalized. I don't know ANYONE that's not exceeded the posted speeds on roads at least some of the time. IMO, if the cops don't pull you over for something, you're doing fine.

Sorry for the insurance increases due to my driving. 6.2 tuned all the way up. Last ticket 100 in 55. Cost 800$ to lawyer. No points they just want money . 😂

I think you misunderstood. Lexisnexis sells your data to your insurance company so they can use it to determine your rates, not others. It's like State Farm's Safe Driver or USAA's Safe Pilot.

However your smart phone doesn’t raise your insurance rates. They will raise your rates when it records hard braking which 9/10 times isn’t even the drivers fault to have to brake hard.

Classic GM excuse BS!!! 😂 Remember when their trucks Transmissions were blowing up and they didn't want to cover it under warranty? They said they're not liable be ause warranty covers manufacturing flaws and not design flaws, and that particular transmission had a design flaw. WAIT Who designed it??? GM 😂
