Hi Can ask something about panic disorder? Is it possible to experienced difficulty in breathing everyday when you have panic attack? But sometimes I breath well when I notice i am not overthingking but it makes me overthink more and then the difficulty breathing happened again.

What you are describing makes a lot of sense, as people with panic often misinterpret the meaning of regular physical sensations, such as breathing. I have posted a couple of videos about panic and panic disorder, which you can find here: Panic and Panic Attacks: ru-vid.com/group/PLG_XiSJeP3s0vBPGLL-Jn_Dxen04L795w

When I was in kindergarten two of my friends lived with their divorced mothers. I began to worry about my parents divorcing, which they never did. I was a worrier until I was in my 40’s. A psychiatrist I was going to invited me to set aside an hour a day dedicated to worry. I chose to worry from 3 pm to 4 pm. If I found I was worrying, I’d say, “I’ll worry about that at 3:. Then I would go about my day. At 3, I‘d stop what I was doing and sit and worry. I did that for months. One day, after about a half an hour, I realized I was through! That went on for another few months, and then I no longer was a worrier. I let it go. What a gift.

I have gad and depression it’s horrible. I felt like I was in this deep dark hole and I wasn’t ever able to get out. I couldn’t see it ever getting better. My journey and battle is no where near over but it’s so much better then when i started. I’m hopeful for the future and I know I can overcome this. I want others to know that even though everyone tells you it will get better and you just can’t seem to believe it, it honestly does. It will even if it takes you years it will. Don’t give up with your battle yet. Keep going try to hold onto the tiny milestones you achieve. Think about the things you can do now that you couldn’t a month ago even if it’s just “I managed to talk about it a bit”. Keep going don’t give it up you will get there you Honestly will just trust me and believe in yourself. You will get there as long as you preserve and believe and take the steps to achieve it.

I have severe anxiety. I do not worry about everyday life things. I am pretty laid back. Buuuut anxiety attacks just happen out of the blue. Not always triggered by anything... I wake up in the middle of the night having an anxiety attack! Over the years I've been able to identify when anxiety is building up and can usually calm myself down. But I'm currently pregnant and between all the horrible symptoms I've been having and the hormones I am a literal wreck. Cant talk myself down anymore and it's just an endless loop of my body losing control. I'm mentally and physically exhausted

Oh I know about that exhaustion and overthinking. It will work out, believe me. There is better yet to come. I suffer from anxiety way before the epidemic. But for some reason I don't feel that anxious now. Why? I've been practicing a few things before the epidemic and continue to practice now. They helped me and I think they could help you. Oh wow - this is just what I needed to hear. I am actually having CBT. The problem is that I'm overprotective of my son from going back packing in Thailand and it is causing friction with us both. I wouldn't wish this issue on anyone. I know that if he goes I'll be in an anxious state the whole time. I've been trying to heal from this for years now. Having narcissistic family members and husband of 30 years have been great contributary factors to my anxiety.

The worries in OCD are more related to thoughts that the person recognizes as illogical or disturbing, whereas a lot of the worries in GAD are "normal" worries that others worry about, but just to a greater extent and with less control.

Amazing video that allows me to understand the condition. Felt identified with the thought process right away. It was like: “I know right?” Some of the things I’ve noticed in my behavior I’ve shared and people who haven’t experienced it don’t seem to understand, even if they’re from the psychology field. Ironically enough, it made me feel reassured about my symptoms.

This scares me so much. I’ve had the exact symptoms for over 3 years now. My biggest problem out of all of these symptoms are the heart palpitations. They are what started first and I spiraled from there. I wish I could make them stop. My fiancé and daughter support me when I’m scared constantly but it is damaging in my personal life. I’ve had 20+ heart palps in the last 24 hours. I’ve been to a Cardiologist, multiple ERs, seen a therapist, been on medications, seen primary a lot. Worn heart monitors and had a few EKGs. They say I’m healthy and I really love the positivity but, it only lasts so long. How do I make it go away forever???

A year ago I had been experiencing panic attacks that always resulted in fainting, mostly in public places, even on a date once. It was humiliating and actually pretty dangerous. So i saw a doctor who gave me some medication, but the effects soon wore off. Searching one day I found a website that had a pretty good review recommending a product to treat my anxiety. I read the review and ended up trying out the method. The technique worked instantly! Because i'm not scared and know i can handle any attack, the attacks went away. If you want to learn more about what I used (Panic Away) here is where I saw the review TreatPanicAndAnxiety.blogspot.com . It tells you about everything that comes with the system and exactly what it will do for you. Check it out, hopefully it will help you like it helped me!

Hey, I have the same from time to time. Also some days where I have a lot of heart palpitations/flutters and I genuinely get scared that Im having a heart attack. Been having this, accompanied with major stomach problems and occasional sleepless nights for about a year now. I got it checked out, got an ekg, everything was normal but I was still scared. Most of all, bc I also live in a pretty rural small town and my doctor believes I'm faking it, bc my family told him so. I haven't had real help yet. I've only had one panic attack before but then every few months often weeks with physical and emotional symptoms that make it really hard to do anything happily. What helps me out of these weeks is turning my phone off, as often as possible, to drink a lot of herbal tea (some are specifically for stress, which sometimes works wonders), going on walks with a few sprints mixed in there, cause your heartbeat calms down a little after each one of them, not thinking too much about your physical problems (which to be honest, sometimes feels impossible, but at least try) and trust that you are fine. Pain and discomfort is temporary, just remember that, we're all in this together, you're not alone!!

My GAD developed either early in childhood or it's genetic, but I wasn't diagnosed until my late 30's. I just want to say thank you for your information. So many that dance with metaphors rather than just laying out symptoms and solutions plainly, like only a doctor can. @@DrRamiNader Thanks, I will do so as worry is probably (I certainly get this pointed out all the time!) an anxiety I seem to have difficulty with. Another anxiety I used to have great issues with was doubt. This one I feel I have managed to deal with outstandingly well, to the point I can see, through my new found self-awareness, a growing collective self-doubt in society mainly due to, I guess the lack of self-worth and peer-pressures brought on further by social media. Which is further aggravated among youths being given the pervasive expectation by their teachers of changing the world. In other words, every pupil is being told to each be the president/prime minister, or Elon Musk. Of course, with social media you can display to your peers an unctuous and empty political or activist slogan to feel a morally superior and self-righteous smugness where they actually trick themselves via ego that they have made a major contribution without having to do a days voluntary service. For instance, I got called a climate denier from someone in a Range Rover despite choosing to not own a car, cycling everywhere including work - of course, I know my own actions, I put the effort in therefore I get the worth of my footprint on this planet hence I'm now able to value my own view over another. Apologies, I could go on.
@DrRamiNader
@DrRamiNader 3 года назад
Social media can certainly contribute to anxiety as it creates a false image of how people are doing. We all know how our personal lives are going (warts and all), but we only see the highlights that people want to share on their social media, making for an unfair and inaccurate comparison.

I'm glad you found it useful. If you want more information about worry or worry management skills, I'm in the process of posting a series of videos about worry management. The first one was posted last week (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OyYoqTnGCvA.html) and the second of the series will be coming out later this week.

This was a fantastic lecture, and I really appreciate being able to better understand the thought processes I seem to have on a daily basis. I was diagnosed with GAD years ago in a mental facility where they decided to feed me pills instead of trying to coach me through my anxiety. Not here to imply that medication has no purpose, but when I was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed with Ritalin (later Concerta), I was given some skills to be able to manage my symptoms, yet when diagnosed with GAD I wasn't even given an idea of what I was doing inside of my head, and how it was impacting me. Overall it felt like I wasn't being taken seriously at all, and that a big part of my life was just brushed over. Was admitted for abusing my prescription meds, it was not fun at all.

I’ve been suffering with GAD and depression my whole life. It’s on and off.... the worse is the tension and headaches that come from it... not being able to concentrate. I have a boyfriend that I love more then anything but lately I feel I can’t be there for him. Anyone else dealing with this ?

Actually dealing with the exact same! makes me feel like I'm just a burden to my boyfriend... but I know rationally that's not the case

Kind of more lately w the covid situation and all the encompasses that. Not being able to concentrate, sleep well, relax, & extreme muscle tension and pain,& restlessness. But recently discovered anxiety and I have had it for a while and never knew. Thinking it was normal to have those feelings most of the times for 15+ years

I was told this by a therapist in a drug rehab 9 years ago but I didn’t wanna believe it.. I wish I did i would have saved myself a lot of time and missed opportunities but it’s ok as long as I learn how to deal w it positively.
