This is a very hard position to generate force from. We begin to study these difficult positions in Wing Chun's 3rd empty hand form Biu Jee. Have a look at the subtlety of internal movements within Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin 's body and the immediate effect it has on us as he projects it out...

Very interesting about the method of generating force from a weak position, any training videos you would recommend on starting to be able to do that. I can see the importance of having this skill in Martial Arts.

Yes definitely! We have an online school that goes through this method step by step. It's www.mindfulwingchun.online and you can try it out for Free. 💪🏼

I started in his student's school in Sydney (Jim Fung Wing Chun Academy) in 1998. I met CST during one of his visits to Sydney in a seminar in 2003. I was absolutely blown away and so in 2005 I moved to Hong Kong to train under him. I had to get a letter from Jim Fung giving his blessing for me to train with CST. 🙏

Hello. The relaxation, when we practicing do we have to constantly be mindful of the body and release or just to be aware?
@MindfulWingChun
@MindfulWingChun Год назад
Hi,the relaxation is constantly flowing inside the body. It's helpful to think aboit the relaxation as a flow of intention moving through the body. That way it is constantly keeping the joints and muscles released yet active. Does that make sense?
@mindfulness-3
@mindfulness-3 Год назад
@@MindfulWingChun so can you say that you give (command intention)to release?
@mindfulness-3
@mindfulness-3 Год назад
Commanding release is what I'm trying to say? with the mind
@mindfulness-3
@mindfulness-3 Год назад
Sorry your comment got me confused
@MindfulWingChun
@MindfulWingChun Год назад
@mindfulness-3 Yes there is an intention to release. However the release intention is jot localized at a specific area. It's always flowing. Like the way water flowing through a hose will unblock the hose.

It is difficult to explain what CST is doing, but he is not defying physics. There are several ways to do what he is doing, and they all involve the mind and thought. Excellent display of internal power.

Yes it is challenging but we are getting there; dispersing the incoming force through the fascia so it does not reach his base of support, meanwhile he can feel his opponents base of support and easily move them as you can't generate force without a foundation to project it off. Once that foundation is floating, any force they project destabilises them. The sticking effect is when you become their base off support and so when they try to pull away they began to fall.
@symbolsarenotreality4595
@symbolsarenotreality4595 Год назад
Try pushing against a wall slowly and building up compression in your base of support to your point of contact. Pull away suddenly and if you jerk forward you are leaning and not centred (double heavy). If you push yourself back you are tilting your base of support and not generating any compression. Remember that feeling that tilts you and hide that line from your opponent while finding it in them. When both feet are facing the wall in neutral stance and you push on it the force should go into your heels. When you pull on the wall it should go into your toes. Now what you want to do after this is generate the same amount of compression both pulling and pushing but do not let the tension line reach your base of support. Practice putting this feeling into all of your techniques and actually measure how much compression you can develop by putting a set of analogue scales on whatever you are pushing or pulling on. Build and build and build upon this basic foundation. There are even more complex dynamics in Chen Practical method but Yang Style has a very intuitive way of dealing with the fluid physics of the fascia.

On that note I would love to see some collaboration between Chen Zhonghua and Martial Man.
