Crazy that the biggest story of the year so far isn't that armada lost to some one outside the top 5, but that someone even took him to game 5. Just doing that is newsworthy. Johnny is just 1 of 3 non top 5 to take armada to game 5 Honestly scary to think about. But armada is the goat. Johnny played so well, and I root for Johnny. But Dam armada's consistency is beautiful

Ok, even though it would've been *way* more hype if S2J won, it is still pretty hype that Armada won. This man's *insane* consistency is absolutely ridiculous, and whenever he takes it to game 5 and still manages to win, it just reminds you how good he is and how he refuses to let his record against anyone but the very best be tarnished. What a legend. Also, S2J did fuckin amazing and I truly believe that he is one of the people with the best chances to pull off the upset of the year next time they face off.

God, so close. I feel like a stomp instead of that knee to end game 3 could have clutched it, but hindsight's always 20/20. I hate to say I felt it was over after game 3, but I did. S2J played his absolute heart out, and you really have to, to keep up with Armada like he did. Amazing job Johnny, go far in losers.

That game 3 thoough. He stopped the most legendary set from happening.

When this set first started I didn't really care. Armada 3-0 S2j whatever. But as the set progresses, Johnny took game 1, and then game 2. At that point I was shivering. He can't do it can he? Then he bustered out game 3. At that point it was over.

this really had me feel as tense as Hbox vs. Armada at Evo. Like Homemade Waffles said in a later set, it really felt like Johnny had to win 3-0 or else Armada would take it. S2J is a legend... his movement is ridiculous

I wish I lived in the universe where S2j landed that knee at 15:41 It certainly wouldn't have KO'd, but all the momentum would have been different :(

One of the most heartbreaking sets in melee IMO.

I remember coming back to the stream when Armada was down a game, and I thought "Nah, he's good." But when he went down 2-0, my heart sank. Gosh, what an intense set. Mad respect to S2J, but phenomenal work by Armada: staying composed, keeping calm, and bringing it back. Easily one of the highlights of Genesis 4. Then again, we've got Mang0-Armada coming up in just a few hours...

Major props to S2J, but to come back from down 0-2 to win 3 in a row is amazing.

It is crazy to see that s2j can play like a beast and almost 3-0 armada but then as soon as the steam wears off armadas adaptation kicks in and it's a wrap

Armada makes this matchup look borderline solved. I know it's not, but S2J played SO. DAMN. GOOD, and still lost. Armada makes Falcon work hard for every little opening. S2J had to outplay Armada several times in a row to find any clean hit leading to big %/positioning/kills. Honestly, I don't think we're ever going to see this matchup played at a much higher level than it was in this set.

Amazing how to start Winners, Armada got pushed to the brink by S2J, and Armada ended Winners (and won the whole tournament) by dominating Mang0 like it was just another day at the office. He looked human, but then his godhood took over once more. Armada is truly the best.

This is such a perfect parallel to Super Bowl LI (2017). Falcon leads first two quarters (2 games to 0; 21-3 at halftime). Then Armada (favored to win) brings it back to tie it up (2 games to 2 games, 28-28 after four quarters) Then overtime (5th quarter), the 5th deciding match. Falcon(s) lose in a heartbreaker. Armada/Pats crowned this year's (Super Bowl/Genesis) champion.

Smash 4 Falcon is way more fun than Melee Falcon, but Melee Peach is way more fun than Smash 4 Peach. I'm surprised that so few people actually main Peach in any of the Smash games (which is why I'm a PROOOOOUUUUUUD Peach main in Melee AND Smash 4).

I think one of S2J's weaknesses was his recovery. He only used down-b when he had to and armada could read his recovery almost every time. I think if he mixed it up more, he would've had better chances. Other than that, he played out of his mind.
