Josh Tusaneza is salt the same as depressed to you, I'm just wondering? I feel like m2k usually isn't salty besides vs ics. I think being depressed isn't being salty - obviously a lot is on the line for these guys and being sad after a loss is just showing your emotions lol. Salty is probably throwing your controller etc. idk I think johns and salt is getting overplayed these days lmao
Josh Tusaneza cant be upset losing to johnny esp when hes playing so well and has never beat m2k hes prob legit happy/proud or w/e about it as a competitor
Super props to Johnny for that win. But I also want to point out a great change in Mew2King's demeanor in the recent years. That insane combo at 11:14 got him laughing. He definitely has much more fun with the game nowadays and he showed no salt when he lost. Don't know if we would've seen that from M2K a few years ago in the same scenario.
Overreacting at its finest? Ice almost reverse 3-0d him after s2j was up 2 stocks game 3 and Ice was up a stock game 5. Imagine how it feels being s2j and knowing you have a track record of completely falling apart and failing to secure career defining upsets and FINALLY pulling in a clutch win to get into top 8 at a major. He was one knee away from 3-0ing armada and then lost the set. Hes been one edgeguard from 3-0ing leffen and lost the set. hes been reverse 3-0d by mang0 and sfat numerous times and has taken numerous great players to last stock game 5 (axe, swedish, m2k several times) only to lose in the most heartbreaking way possible. given the context i would have punched a hole in the crt if i were in his shoes.
SuperPayTV I don't think you realize how much energy and adrenaline is involved in these moments. If your so into a moment that you physically jump out of your seat, that moment will probably last more than 2 seconds.
S2J is a LEGEND!!!! Beating Duck in Winners and then beating SFAT, HugS, Ice, Shroomed, Plup, and Mew2King in Losers is freaking insane; not to mention he's playing falcon!! I watched this live and it was the hypest run I've ever seen in my life. WE LOVE YOU JOHNNY KIM ❤️🔥
What I love about melee so much and what separates it from every other game is its seemingly infinite potential. Let me give you an example. Everyone thought ken was unbeatable, then people like PC, azen, mew2king and mang0 started beating him and today he's 87th in the world(I know he's semi retired but still, prime ken wouldn't hold a candle to today's top 5). We thought mang0 was the best until armada came along. We thought no falcon could beat m2k's sheik until n0ne does it at goml 2016 and then all of a sudden he gets 3-0'd by wizzy's falcon, and now this happens. It's just amazing seeing this game's ceiling grow exponentially even after 16 years. "Impossible is whatever." -KirbyKaze PS, congrats to the winner of the tournament(avoiding saying his name cause spoilers). I'm salty, but he deserved it
OmenOfWar limits are only reached in this game when someone simply doesnt get hit and converts a won exchange in neutral to a kill 100% of the time. No one has gotten even close to the limit yet, and saying all tech had been discovered is like saying you know that there is no more tech to find.
OmenOfWar in 2005 "it's done growing now. Once Ken retires it will die unless some super good players come out of no where and make it relevant again. Most of the characters limits have been reached and most tech skill has been found."
OmenOfWar For someone not in the community you care an awful lot about this old game. We'll continue growing just fine without you. We don't need your toxicity, take it to League/CS GO that you apparently are apart of. Or do they not want to hear your trolling bullshit either?
+OmenOfWar well props for admitting you have no idea what you're talking about, but you still have no idea what you're talking about. You seriously think League of Legends will outlive Melee? You do realize that game is ALREADY dying right? It's player base is on steep decline. CSGO will last a while because it's a good game, but both CSGO and LoL are already dying because they're not unique and are easily replaced by other MOBAS and FPS's... There is no competitor for what Melee offers which is why it will easily outlive both of them.
OmenOfWar Here's the layout you fuckin fraud: There are players like zain who started playing melee as late as 2014 and he is now ranked 66th in the world with notable placements at several recent tournaments. there's Captain faceroll, there's reeve, there's a highly technical fox named Syrox recently making waves who started in 2011. So yes, new players are picking this game up even though it's not as accessible as other esports. I am 18 years old and have only been playing for a year and a half. There's another smash bros documentary coming out that will no doubt inspire yet another generation of noobies like the last documentary in 2013. Currently this game is bigger than it has ever been. New techs and tactics are still being discovered with characters like fox and marth. even when those are all discovered new tactics and ideas will still be formed. There were 7 different characters in top 8 at this tournament, you're telling me they're all already at their limits? Only way this game dies is when people lose interest and that will not happen any time soon. You sure act like you know a lot about melee for someone who doesn't even follow it lmao
Nathan Prindler I've been saying for months that falcon can win a major given the right player is playing him. We've seen m2k and hbox lose to falcons, we've seen armada come one knee away from losing to a falcon, we just need a falcon good enough to take on mang0's falco and leffen's fox and the ancient prophecy will be fulfilled
Such an amazing set. Both were playing very careful neutral yet the craziest interactions happened within it. Johnny showed great recognition of Sheik's hitboxes and area of danger. He spaced really well against tilts and full hop fairs coming from M2K. Also, the consistent SDI ups were slick. Love both of these guys. GGs.
it wasn't on VGBC because the venue had to close before they played their match so the official stream ended. You can watch their match on either Alex19's or Raalts twitch VODs from Saturday night although don't go expecting good quality, but I know they recorded the video on a laptop so I think they should be uploaded officially soon.
I was getting really scared for s2j when he started missing a couple those free grab ledge -> stomp or grab ledge -> knee edgeguards, because I've met mid-level scrub falcons that can hit that edgeguard 100% consistently and it made me think he was choking. Good on him for maintaining his composure.
M2k really enjoys falcon combos, so him losing to johnny while he got styled on multiple times doesn't really upset him. I hardly ever see m2k shake his opponents hand so he def respected this set
