READ DESCRIPTION: im the guitarist in this video and my friend Tim's the drummer. we couldn't find a bassist who could play these songs, so it was just the two of us performing on top of backing tracks I made for the show. both of us were connected to an in-ear system that monitored a click while the backing track stems (including the bass) were routed out through the main speakers. wasn't 100% clean playing, but the show was great and i was so happy with how well it sounded!

i used the HSS nick johnston sig ran through a tiny line 6 amp that was miced up. the amp is all digital and i basically cranked one of the crunch presets to the max, gain, tone, volume, and master all on 10. reverb and fx was turned off since we played in an auditorium with natural reverb

its not hard to get a tone like this with software tho, just takes a good amount of compression (slow attack, fast release) and then slowly pushing up the amp’s drive/gain to where ur dynamics sound clear when playing soft and crunchy when playing hard. from there, surgical and additive EQ and post fxs. hope this helps 🙏
