Genesis Coupe 3.8 Gets Solo Performance Exhaust!

I got the Solo Performance catback on my 2011 3.8 about a year ago and do NOT regret it!

I have the stillen and it sounds amazing as well

This was my first exhaust!! Man memories... I had it on for years, ended up upgrading this year to the meganflow and built my own custom Y pipe. Shes sounds like a beaut. And in regardless to the window this happen to me and the gas cap got stuck. I dont think they're really a fix. I just used warm room temperature water in a spray bottle and break up the ice, and should be good. Try that

Hey man I love your channel and it’s helped me a lot as I just bought a genesis 3.8. As for the doors I daily drive mine in Canada and my first morning I could not get my doors open. I use a silicone spray along the rubber parts of the door especially on the bottom part where the window drops down, I’ve had no problems since. I’ve done all the steps for the giveaway and would love the throttle controller as I can’t afford any performance upgrades. Congrats on 5k!

you made me love this car and now I'm looking for a 2014, 3.8 automatic, there is none in my country (Switzerland). the only 3.8 there are is the older generation that I find horrible. I will be patient and one day I will have my 3.8!

Nice video bro. I finally got my gen running good again and mechanic told me previous owner installed ported upper and lower intake manifolds! Now I just need the exhaust and a tune and I will be flying xD

Hey Ethan, loved the video. About your window not going down when its below freezing, best way I found out with my Genesis was to put a bit of vaseline around the seals on the window and the door frame. Sometimes moisture will freeze around those parts and cause the issue you are having. Hope that helps man.

Yo you took my advice from the making the genesis coupe louder again vid and how i said you need a exhaust that has pressure going back to the motor to give it performance damn sounds great to man

I live in Canada and when I have to crack open the doors on the Genny in the winter I ALWAYS do it as follows: Pull the door handle but do not pull on the door. This tells the sensor for the window to drop a half inch Once the window drops, then pull the door. Always close the doors gently, they are longer than most doors, Not to mention the window is frame less From what you are explaining it sounds like you might have already broke something tho 😔 Exhaust sounds clean tho 👌

Love the interior of your genesis those 3 guages in the middle are sic. I have the 2010 genesis coupe 3.8 but the interior isn't as nice as the BK2 version

For the window just get really hot water and pour it all over the window where it’s stuck, I’ve done this for my 2010 genesis when I had it and it worked

For the window check the door sensor because mine was doing the same thing

We almost have the same setup, Mine is custom tho. I did a cat delete and placed an x pipe in its place then ran 19 inch resonator to straight pipe.

I’ve got this on my 2012 Genny Coupe 3.8 bk1. At idle you can barely hear it but once you get it past 3k rpm it gets loud asf. Also you don’t get the crackle and pops anymore, probably my least favorite thing about it. Other than that it makes the car sound perfect.

Also that throttle control would be nice lol 😁😁

Yo bro, The components of the window are freezing over that's why they won't lower when you try to open the door like they're supposed to. It's a semi common issue when you live in colder areas like you live in :( Not much that you can do besides hope and pray that they aren't frozen over when you try to get in... you also have to super careful when they do freeze because opening and closing your doors when the windows aren't lowered risks them catching on the door frame and shattering. My tip: Keep your windows cracked a bit when you park over night or for long periods of time. Might be cold af when you first get in but that would limit when it catches.

just to let you know my doors do it too, my passanger more so, in my opinion i think its just a bad window motor because i only have that issue on my passanger side. however before you close it if you push down on the window gentle near the side mirror the window should sink down to where its suppose to be.

Hey @ethan Is the solo cbe raspy? I’ve seen videos of it on with test pipes and it honestly sounds horrible because of the rasp.

I have a bk2 with the ark dts exhaust and I got the car with it. I was wondering if anybody could tell me if that exhaust set up would throw an engine code or not

So I installed mine finally with ark test pipes, and mine does not pop like that at all, I have the 15 bk2 3.8 8t as well. I love the exhaust but I don't understand why mine doesn't pop. It like burbles a little but not that noticeable like yours when you had the genny.
