Everything looks wonderful and neatly done. I'd like to do this exact setup, however I'm concerned about the heat of the parked car and having the tablet. Would this be an issue? Thank you for this and part 2

The head unit for my radio went out, if I did this would it replace it or would I have to get it fixed and THEN do this? I'm not a car guy so I'm new to changing stuff like this.

Leave the door as is, to much carbon wrap will look tacky. As for the upper tablet I would go with a slim Android head unit such as this one Android 8.1 Car Multimedia GPS... www.amazon.com/dp/B07FFL95T1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Will be much easier to hook up and is shallow enough to fit plus give you options like front DVR and backup camera.

Cool video. But, your info is slightly wrong. The Kindle Fire uses a heavily-skinned Android OS. You would have been fine by side-loading the Google Play store on it and downloading all of your apps that you use.

Hi, I´m trying to purchase all the items required to do the installation of both the double din radio and the Tablet. Unfortunately the piece of the dash in order to fit the tablet is not available in amazon any longer. ¿Do you now any other site where I can get it? Thank you for all the help.

Go to www.amazon.com/shop/vehicleevolution There’s a link there that has all of the components for the tablet. I found the bezel on amazon last week and added it to that page.

Thanks! You should be able to use a different tablet. I know some people have used the 7” Nexus. I’m gonna switch mine out for a different one. The A7 takes too long to charge.

The app for the dash boards is Dash Command. The other app to make the tablet wake up and go to sleep when the car is on or off is AutomateIT Pro.

I’ve seen people say they are putting 8” tablets in there. Depends on the overall size of the whole tablet. Not just the screen. The Samsung I’m using just barely fits

Not with an aftermarket radio. The OEM nav screen only works with the OEM head unit

@@VehicleEvolution so, I found used oem color nav display with radio head. All plugs are the same? I suppose that radio and nav will not work in Europe) Local workshop suggest Pioneer display but newer model.

I play music through the head unit. You could play it through the tablet and connect the tablet by bluetooth to the head unit for sound.

When I plugged in my aftermarket stereo, no sound comes out. This stereo powers on but I get no sound. Is it something that has to do with the factory amp? I was just wanting to know the process you went through while hooking up your new stereo.

If you have the factory nav setup you have to run your speaker wires from the harness to the factory amp that’s mounted behind your rear seat

Hey. I did the double din install today, can you explain the steering wheel control wires? I have extra wires leftover from my kit from steering wheel but do I need an adapter or something for them to be functional? What did you do to wire the steering wheel to pioneer dash unit

I didn’t add the adapter to make the controls work. This is the one you would need though. Body style is a bit different inside and out. The engine of a 2013+ has more power. The 2012 2.0T and earlier put out about 210 horsepower. The 2013+ is about 274 horsepower. That’s without tuning.

You lose the AC display. I haven’t found it to be that big of an issue though.

I have my power running right to the power adapter in the center console so I haven’t had an issue with it dying. Otherwise, yeah, you’d have to pop it out and bring it inside to charge on a wall outlet.

You could just swap them out but the tablet wont display your navigation screen like the factory one will.

It’s possible but you have to run your speaker wires to the amp that comes with that sound system. Otherwise you won’t get any sound.

There are a bunch of videos on RU-vid for the bk1. If you search genesis bk1 tablet they should come up. I did this series for the bk2 because I could only find bk1 videos out there.
