"Dreaming of the time we were free". My lovely, much missed Mum has just left us at the age of 95 and she loved this song. My wife Shelley , and I agree, Mum "For with with us you will stay for the rest of our days!" The lovely lady never let us down and I will never let her down.
@@loui4898 Agreed. The studio album was well-polished, but to properly match the theme of a song like this (another example would be Domino) you need something rough around the edges, a bit frantic, and with at least a hint of barely contained tension or anxiety.
Having just suffered most of the acts at Glastonbury I can only thank my lucky stars that I’m at an age that experienced true great live performances such as this

The best post 1980 track by Genesis by 100 miles. Right up there with their very best work. What a shame they did so little like this in the 1980s and 1990s.
It's one of the best songs & drums playing ...phil & cheaster are unbelivable ..one of phil creations.....i listen to it every day more than 10 times...this is the real music on the world
I attended July 4 1987 at Wembley for the invisible touch tour with prince and princess in attendance and I thought the 300000 people then was the biggest crowd is ever be a part of then as we walked 16 miles from our car to see this show 20 years exactly in the future we managed to get about 20th row just be pushing our way through and incredibly 500000 show up. My dad took me as a kid cuz I loved Phil solo and I fell in love with genesis now 20 years after I take my son to what he called the entire world in the park. If you look really hard from 16:22 to 19:13 the young boy on the guys shoulder is sonny boy and me. What a priceless double memory....good to see phil got it done before his body fought back and I'm glad to see sonny boy nic making the lateral. I bet in ten years times nic and the kids of Tony and Mike form a recover band called regenesis.....makes sense in my head
The vocals for the 92 tour where menacing. As a kid at the show, I felt like I was watching phil channel the sorrow or the spirits into every line he sang. Especially the line "help us someone" that line was very strong. Here.....he is just going through the lyrics but without any heart. So sad as I love me some phil.
I had tickets for the concert but had to skip it due to a sudden work hindrance...one of my biggest regrets as I later realised that this was Genesis's last concert... :-(
@@furman87 Yep...missed too many music, motorbike & other lifestyle events/trips due to crazy work schedules...only to later realise that time doesn't come back and money still flows away for commitments not directly linked to your soul.....should invest more in happiness ;-)

Phil and Chester playing the same beat has a great booming effect. But let's say it was Simon Phillips in Chester's place (no hate for Chester). That would be cool too. Simon has that English feel sitting comfortably at the back of the beat, which makes him a perfect fit. Now, if it was Chester, Phil, plus Simon playing together, it would be much more explosive. Not to mention you might like a Simon Phillips sound on Easy Lover, Another Day In Paradise, Turn It On Again, No Son of Mine, Abacab, Invisible Touch, or even Sussudio and In the Air Tonight.
